Which Universities should I apply to?

My main country is Canada but I need 3 US universities as back up. I have a SAT Score of 2030. Im doing around 8 APs and have got straight As in my olevel (intl student) My GPA can be consider to be around 3.8

My first choice is UCLA

I am confused about these.: Georgia Tech, Michigan, Cal poly, Carnegie Melon , Pen State and Wisconsin.

I need to choose 2 from the above. I want to major in computer science/engineering (undergrad) Can you recommend me 2 from these. I want a big uni with a good campus and somewhat cold weather. I am looking for like one that I will get in for sure and like 2 where I have an okayish chance.

Thanks

What is your M+CR?

How much will your family pay each year? UCLA, GT, UMich, UWisc, and others are expensive. Most don’t give aid to int’ls.

Penn State is a huge school and has cold weather and it could probably work as a safety for you as your grades and scores are well within their average.
Geogia Tech may be a reach and so is Carnegie Melon but both are really good for computer science.
So maybe pair one safety like Penn with a reach school like Carnegie or Georgia Tech.

“I want a big uni with a good campus and somewhat cold weather.”

You do realize that UCLA does not have, “somewhat cold weather” right? Michigan is the most like UCLA out of all of your other choices. Since you are using these schools as backups, I would choose CMU and Michigan for the other two.

You can get in for sure at Wisconsin and Penn State.
Madison (WI) is nicer than State College; Penn State is closer to lots of interesting cities that are easy to get to (bus running from campus to NYC, Philadelphia, DC, etc. on weekends)
GATech adn Cal Poly are good reaches.
UMichigan and Carnegie Mellon without ALevel predicted scores are almost unreachable (unless you do have AS scores and predicted A2, just forgot to mention it).
None of these schools offers financial aid for international students, with costs ranging from roughly 40k to 60k per year for total cost of attendance (including books, clothes, transportation…)
