Which university(s) has/have the most amazing campus?

I am a junior looking to go to a pretty prestigious university.

My question is, which schools (either that you have actually visited, attended, or currently attend) have an amazing campus/quality of life.

The quality of life, campus, and dorms are very important for me in my decision.

So, everyone.. which colleges in your mind have the best campus?!?!?

also, situated in the best location

Err…this is kind of a subjective question isn’t it? The best location to you may be the worst location to someone else. Do you have any ideas of what kind of place you want to go (urban, rural, suburban?) or school size? You’re gonna get a whole lot of different answers if you don’t give us some specific preferences.

no i want everyones opinion, not for me, what is your ideal location. and which campus do you think offers the most? hahah sorry about the wording

Evanston, IL is perfect.

So is the school there. ;)

Hello, December 15th lol.

From all of the universities I’ve visited I’d have to say Dartmouth, Smith, and Boston College were amazing. All very different though.

I found Bates to be extremely nice as well, although some people on CC say that they don’t like the town of Lewiston. I thought it was nice though.

The campus of Amherst was nice, but the town surrounding it is kind of depressing. It was raining though, maybe that’s what made it feel bleek haha.

Columbia. It has a real campus, unlike NYU, but NYC, the best city in the world, is still kind of its entire campus =]

notre dames campus is really that nice??

Beautiful Rural Campuses

Kenyon College Lords and Ladies (the prettiest campus I have ever seen)
Sewanee University of the South Tigers
Carleton College Knights
Washington and Lee University Generals

Urban/Suburban

Washington University in St. Louis Bears
Rhodes College Lynx
Emory University Eagles
Macalaster College Fighting Scots

Miami University (OH) and Earlham both have very nice campuses. I like Earlham’s a bit more, except Miami has newer buildings. They’re pretty close.

I’ve heard that Notre Dame’s campus is outstanding. South Bend is not great though.

S and I visited Pomona College in Oct and thought it was nirvana. Weather is gorgeous, student body is vibrant and intelligent. The 5-college consortium facilities and variety of classes gives you the best of small college and mid-sized university. And the campus is absolutely beautiful. Huge trees (eucalyptis?), great southern Cal architecture with red-tiled roofs, fountains and courtyards everywhere.

Wheaton in Massachusetts is a pretty campus and fairly near Boston.

Forham Rose Hill is great

Cornell has a gorgeous campus, great quality of life. Lots of hard work in the Ivies.

Princeton FTW

University of Virginia is absolutely gorgeous!
Boston College is also great!
Wake Forest was really nice and gave off the feeling of colonial williamsburg.

The best campus settings–different from the most beautiful campuses–are:

USMA at West Point
Northwestern University
UC Santa Barbara
The Univ. of British Columbia

**This thread starts and ends with Indiana University and
the University of Washington at Seattle. Since I go to
IU, i’ll only post pictures of that and you can google the
blossom treest of UW yourself.

It’s COMMON that students pick IU over more prestigious
colleges BECAUSE of its campus alone. The fact that
every building is made of limestone theme, IU has a
LIBERAL ARTS SMALL SCHOOL FEEL for a STATE UNIVERSITY.
It’s amazing, and unparalleled. Much of its architecture is
modeled after Oxford. I know MANY students who aren’t in
honors because they didn’t apply. They thought Indiana
would be their “safety” school, but when they made a visit
to IU they changed their minds at the last minute and turned
down Notre Dame, Northwestern, Michigan, Dartmouth (me),
and more schools to attend IU OOS without scholarships.

It’s that amazing. Take a look at the pictures for yourself.**
