Which university should I choose?

I just got admission from UW Seattle pre-engineering; UCD-computer engineering;UCI computer engineering;UCSD undeclared majors; Being a computer engineering is my dream since childhood. I wonder which college is my best choice. I heard that it's very hard get into CSE program in UW Seattle, and UCSD only give engineering admission to freshmen. Since I am undeclared, I might not get into USCD's CSE program. I really want to know which college is my best choice.Thank you

are you a CA resident or WA resident?

There’s an important question that you are not answering–what is the relative cost of these programs to you? But it seems that Davis or UCI would be the smart choice.

I am from Canada.

Then UCD or UCI should be your first choices. Can you afford both/either? Is there a cost differential for UWA?

UW seattle is like $5000 cheaper per year compared with UCs

What are your current stats? ie, AP classes in science, math, and English with grades; GPA; SAT score, CR, M, W (or ACT composite and per subject).
This is to evaluate whether you’d have good odds at UWA.
It’s cheaper by a fair amount but if you can’t get into your major it’s pointless.

For UW and UCSD, you need to check how difficult it would be to get into your desired major.

If the risk is too high that you will not get into your desired major, then the schools where you are in your major are more desirable.

Of course, you need to be sure that you can afford them.

What about universities in Canada?

My GPA is 3.8222, took AP Calculus AB and got 5 last year. 12th place in alberta high school math contest.
SAT 1920
CR:580
W: 580
M: 760
SATII: M(level 2):800,P:720 Chem:730

You’ll have to work seriously on English composition, a required class for all engineers (go to the Writing center as soon as you get your syllabus, go talk to the professor the first week to make sure you understand expectations&assignements and what’s going on in class, and get help before you need it) so that it doesn’t negatively impact your GPA. Remember to party only on weekends, no matter what others (with less demanding majors or requirements) may do.
For the rest, you’re fine so I think you can “risk it” at UW.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I support what MYOS is saying about your writing skills. This weakness is characteristic of some of my Canadian students, and it was surprising to me when I first encountered it. Expect to have to pour a lot of sweat into improving your writing when you come to the states. Or else expect your writing skills to have a negative impact on your career.

So UW’s CSE program is way better than that of other schools?
