Hi, idk between these three university suits me better as a Business Major (MIS to be more specific). I also, wanted to know what are these Universities known for in the major section…? I heard that csulb focuses on art, csuf focuses on business, and csupomona focuses on technology, but i dont know if this is true…? can someone please help me? I would really want to know.
all 3 have solid biz and MIS programs. Spend some time on each campus and pick the one that suit you best.
Yeah campus tours are the best way to see where you fit if the colleges you want have similar programs. I thought I wanted to go to SDSU until I went to the campus and decided I wasn’t into the vibe, for example.
Go and visit.
Considering your major, I’d pick either CSULB or CPP but visiting should clear things up.
The thing is that I’m not from the states, I’m an International Student, so, me going over there to make tour would be very expensive. I just wanted more of an opinion to which one is best because I have to pick soon…
Check YouTube to get some perspective from students regarding the school environments. Again as stated above, all are good choices so I think you cannot go wrong with any of the schools. CPP and CSULB will slightly more residential (more Freshman on campus) than Fullerton so they might be a consideration since you are International.
I’d pick CPP. It’ll be more residential than the others and its reputation is growing; the technological emphasis is actually an advantage for MIS, both because your major involves some technology and also because it’ll put you in contact with a lot of tech companies for internships.
(1) CSUF has the best business program out of the 3, plus it is located in the nicest area. You would love Orange County.
(2) CSULB is probably the best overall, but from own personal research a lot of people recommend CSUF over CSULB for business.
(3) CPP. Great school, not very well-known for their business program compared to other programs – such as technology.
Coming here for a visit is a small fraction of the cost of attending a CSU as an international student. The campuses are really very different - I strongly suggest you visit before you choose.
Also, most objective people will tell you that Long Beach has a marginally stronger biz program than Fullerton, which has a marginally better biz program than CPP. Honestly, it really won’t matter in the end. You should go where you will excel - the campus where you fit best. Performing well academically and socially will give you access to internships, recommendations and a network of contacts - that will have a much bigger impact on your post college career than which of the 3 you graduate from.
