Loyola Marymount, any of the CSU’s, Santa Clara would all be good. Cal Poly SLO would be a reach for you but the Pomona campus you would probably get into.

plus my woeful score is 102
and sat 2 maths is 760
and physics 770
can i get anything else also

*toefl score is 102

Unfortunately you missed the deadlines for the CSU and UC applications, which means you’ll essentially be constrained to private schools in California. Great if you can pay $55,000+/ year and are willing to go to a school like University of San Diego (a good but not great school in Southern California, which would only admit you because they think you can pay in full).

Why are you restricting yourself to California? The US is a big country with plenty of great colleges located in the other 49 states.

St. Mary’s Moraga? I drive by every day.

no i applied to sdsu sjsu and sfsu from csu
uci ucsc from uc

i don’t mind even new york or new jersey or penn

@whenhen can u advice other good universities also
which are located in other places in the us

Well the short answer is, there are a lot, probably too many to list. How much can you afford, per year, in US dollars? Are you looking to live in any particular type of environment, be it rural, suburban, urban, etc? Do you care about the presence of other internationals from your home country at the school?

no i do not care about other international from my country.
as far as finance goes i can pay upto 60000$ if the university is good
my suitable environment would be urban but suburban would also do if the university is good

@whenhen pls help

Some suggestions which cover a wide geographic area although are all relatively close to larger US airports:
-Colorado State University
-University of Oklahoma (good option for relatively average students and is located 20 minutes south of Oklahoma City)
-Texas Christian University
-University of Houston
-Temple University
-University of Utah
-University of Portland
-Trinity University (TX)
-Marquette University
-Drexel University
-Depaul University
-Seattle University
-Florida Institute of Technology (loves internationals, or more accurately, money from internationals)
-University of Cincinnati

thanks a lot
do i hv a chance in uci or ucsc

bump :(

why take tofel? Are you an international student? If you are full pay you may have a chance at ucsc, but if you need ANY aid, just forget it. uci, no, but try it anyway.

yes i am an international student
i can manage to pay full

What math class are you taking right now? Did you take mostly College Prep classes or Honors classes, how many APs do you have (if any)? What’s the detail on your 1610 SAT ie., did you score below 500 on CR and/or W? Below 400?
sjsu is highly selective for some majors, non selective for others, so it’d depend on the major you applied for.
As an international student, you still have a chance to apply to some CSUs, so I’d apply to CPP.
UCSC is a reach as is UCI but excellent math scores may help you at UCSC.
Applying to LMU, USanDiego, USanFrancisco, St Mary’s of CA may be a good idea.
As a full pay student, your odds of admission at Illinois Institute of Technology or Florida Institute of Technology are good; at Penn State*, you’d have to apply quickly (priority deadline was Nov 30, but Internationals can still apply and have a shot) and you’d have even odds of admission to engineering if your SAT is due to a low CR/W score with a high Math score (they would subsitute your TOEFL score as an indication of english proficiency and since you’re above 100, you’re good), make sure to check “summer session” though (you’d start in the summer with a smaller cohort and complete two prerequisites, then start in the Fall already knowing the campus, the system, etc.) Same thing at UMass which has a well-respected CS program, and Marist (partnership with IBM).

(*note the “State” is not the same as in “Cal State” - this is the flagship for Pennsylvania, but it’s only “state-affiliated”, it’s part public part private…)

yes my maths sat 1 score is 660
but my 10th school score was 94 and in my 12th standard i stood second
maths is pretty good as i have 90 percentile score or plus in my school

where do i get an option to apply full time
pls help@MYOS1643
