Which US universities are highly reputable in Asia?

especially in Singapore.

Other than Ivies?

Stanford
Berkeley

especially in Singapore. You should know better than others as you’re Singaporean.

Posting such a thread here will just probably entice every other CC-er to promote their own college, resulting in nothing but propaganda.

Another way of getting out of this predicament is to say/admit: Other than Ivies and Stanford (sorry UCBChemEGrad, most Singaporeans are still quite ignorant about Cal), not many Singaporeans are going to think the other colleges are ‘highly reputable’.

But…so what…most people don’t really know about academics anyway, so don’t fret about their opinions too much.

You must be referring to Singaporean students. Cal is well known among employers, especially with employers hiring engineers.

Yes, employers worth their salt will know Cal, I was referring to the general populace, pple like students, parents, taxi-drivers, man-on-the-street etc. The thing is, if the engineering company is not a multi-national one, or is concentrated locally, then I think recognition of Cal also becomes a problem.

erm berkeley is extremely well known in singapore… and how can you miss out MIT!!!

Come on. only NUS , NTU , SMU is recognized by the gneral populace.

hahah own.

@ Valour,
What exactly is the purpose of compiling this list? It might help if we understand what you need the info for.

if you want recognition, play safe and go to NUS or NTU.
