I think the only school that I realistically match with is Virginia Tech. What do you guys think?

What do you intend to major in? Being from Fairfax I don’t see you getting into UVA at all but there are other great schools in VA.

Are you only considering in-state school? What can you afford?

You need to ask the guidance office staff at Langley about this. They know where their students have been admitted fin the past, and will be able to give you much more accurate advice than any of us can.

I am not really sure what I intend to major in, maybe engineering, computer science. I am planning on going to grad school so I prefer not out of state

Virginia Tech is probably your best match as far as selectivity (and cost). Apply to U Virginia too. Christopher Newport, George Mason, and James Madison are down in likely/safety territory, but you’d have to crunch the numbers to find a proper safety. Maybe apply to two of those three. Also check the Net Price Calculator for U Richmond (reach), which meets 100% need.

ODU would be a safety.

What does this mean?

^ Competition is high for UVA from NOVA. This poster will be competing with students from TJ and other top schools with a 3.95 WGPA and 2000 SAT. UVA has to accommodate students from across the state since it’s the flagship so students outside NOVA can have lower stats.
