Majoring in Chemistry and Minoring in Psychology or Majoring in Psychology and Minoring in Chemistry? I know the actual major does not matter, but I was wondering which one would be better.

The major truly doesn’t matter. What does matter are:
Your overall GPA
Your GPA in the pre-med courses
Your MCAT score

Once you get to college you will figure out pretty quick whether YOU prefer Chem or Psych (or even something completely different). When you know that, you will know what to major in.

Which one do you think will be easier to maintain a high GPA? I currently like both and can’t choose between them. Should I wait until I take college courses to decide?

Wait until you have had some classes in both subjects to decide about this one.

I agree with happymom about what med schools care about.

Psych is most likely the easier major, so if you enjoy both, major in the easier one and minor in the relatively more difficult one. Chemistry is a pretty tough major. GL

Thanks! I figured Psych would be easier.
