Which would be better to do?

I'm a sophmore taking Bio, and for junior year i can take chemistry, then AP bio senior year. Or i can take IB Bio for both junior and senior year. Which do you think is best for colleges? My bio teacher told my class, you should take chem if you're tryna get into college...

I would suggest trying to take chem and doing ap physics your senior year. Colleges don't like to see the same class repeated twice, even though it is at a different level. or you can take both chem and ap bio your junior year. but make sure you take ap physics.

Why would you want to take biology for three years? You need a taste of the other sciences too.

Chem is a lot more fun. Take that. :)
Plus it's more fundamental of a science.

Science is sort of like neapolitan ice cream. You need to be able to taste all the flavors before you see which one you like. If you eat chocolate ice cream all your life, you will never know what vanilla or strawberry ice cream tastes like. Who knows? Maybe you will end up liking vanilla or strawberry ice cream better. I would go with the strawberry ice cream if I were you.

That's not true that colleges don't want to see the same class repeated at different levels. At my school to take higher level science, you have to take just the basic honors or normal sciences first. By the time I graduate, I'll have taken Chem 1 (honors not offered:(), Physics 1H, Bio 1H, Chem 2IB, Physics 2IB/AP, and Bio 2IB. I think colleges will really like my 6 years of science and participation in higher level science, esp. b/c I'm, a girl. But to answer the origional question you MUST take at least one physical science (aka chem or fizix) if you're really concerned about college. Where I go it's a graduation requirement.
