Which would look better for Huntsman?

Would it look better to Huntsman if I spent a summer studying Spanish (which would be my target language if accepted) in Bolivia, that also includes community service, or if I took either a microeconomics course or an international relations course (and which one of those) on Penn's campus through the precollege program. Thanks!

Note: This will not be the sole factor in deciding which program I choose

I would take the summer in Bolivia. If you can tie in your experiences there to the Huntsman-specific essay on the app, that would look really unique (a double-must for those applying as a Spanish target, since I’m pretty sure it’s the most competitive language in the program).

If you are already really proficient in Spanish enough to ace the subject test, you could either.

Bolivia sounds more fun too.

What’s your passion? Travel, adventure or economics?

Oh yeah, and don’t forget to consider that the acceptance is still low no matter what. Which option would you least regret not doing if you don’t get accepted?

The sole deciding factor should not be what “would look better for Huntsman.” The deciding factors should be which of the options you presented you prefer, which one most closely aligns with your passions, which one most stimulates your interests.

Don’t spend your high school life pursuing things you think colleges want to see – most of the time (as in this instance that you presented), it’s almost a complete guess as to what selective colleges would prefer to see. Instead, spend your time pursuing the things you love most.

^Oops, disregard most of my previous post. I misread “NOTE: This will not be the sole factor in deciding which program I choose” as “This WILL BE the sole factor in deciding which program I choose.”

My bad. xD

However, I still say that you should do whatever one that interests you the most and aligns most closely to your passions. You should have several ECs that align with your passions, so if you go for the one option that you outlined above that most interests you, it will probably “fit” in with the rest of the application.

Go to Bolivia, sounds more fun and Huntsman seems to value the international background more than any experience with business. Everything you think you know about business goes out the window once you start frosh year anyways.
