Which would you go to?

UCLA or UC Berkeley

I'll start: UCLA

I'd pick UCLA too

UCLA !! ten characters

again???????

ucla!!!

My pick: UCLA :)

????????
I thought UCB was the top public school... why UCLA?

When I visited both schools, I really didn't like Berkley, it seemed boring and not full of sane people... and I personally like the LA better than the San Fran area. It's your own choice though.

everyone has their own opinion. what was urs

UCLA is now very close academically to Cal. Therefore, a lot of people choose for "better fit."

In California, both schools are just as selective and hard to get in.

I had my choice of Regents and Chancellors between the two (well, actually, UCLA's is seperate or something like that--I just know I got a letter thing and an email) and chose UC Berkeley.

I felt it was a better fit, the academics were better, and the administration/faculty was far, far friendlier.

I suppose it's personal preference.

My Reason To Pick La Over Cal
Location-i Like La Area
Relative-lots Of Help From Them
Better Sports(spirit??)-but Cal Is Pretty Good Too
Academic-almost Same...

Berkeley. Why? I am very interested in politics and berkeley students are very politically active. Berkeley is just a jump skip and hop away from san fran (<3 san fran) Berkeley has top-notch humanities programs.

UCLA. I've just always liked UCLA better, no reason really.

How about neither. They don't appeal to me.

UCLA. Not even close.

The topic asks which you would go to, not would you go to either. (If you were held at gunpoint, which one would you choose).

I think giving reasons helps, but that's just me.

Berkeley

Bay Area > smoggy, superficial LA any day.

and in terms in undergrad selectivity, yes they're close/same... but not in terms of academic reputation.

It's a hard choice....both are overrated, both are in a bad location (west coast), both treat undergrads like dirt, both have TA's teaching seniors, but both have great academics.

I guess it comes down to fit.

Neither appeal to me....

East coast>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>West coast (UCB/UCLA)
Big(UCB/UCLA)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Small
Liberal Arts focus>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Science focus (UCLA/UCB)
etc etc

interesting how you see it so negatively...

Haha . . . the entire west coast a bad location . . . my sides hurt.
