I am a rising junior and I am considering to take the Gmat to apply to HBS. However, I feel like I don't want to take the test, if I can only apply to HBS 2+2 with it. What about Stanford, Wharton etc. Do they offer a similar program?

Further I'd be interested what all the people do who get rejected. Can they use the GMAT scores for other Masters? If so which ones? Can they reuse them after 4 years when they probably apply to HBS regular decision?I heard the scores are valid for 5 years but most schools prefer scores from the past 2 years.
I really don't know if I should kill myself over the summer just to get a 10% shot at HBS...

Help!

bump
I was wondering if there there are any other programs like HBS 2+2 too

HBS 2+2 accepts GMAT and GRE, if you are considering other Masters programs, you may want to take the GRE. Keep in mind other B-schools probably won’t accept GRE.

do I take the GRE in my junior year?

It’s best if you take GRE right now. You can use it for HBS first and then you can use it immediately after you graduate if you’re interested in other programs besides MBA.

Also, there’s no program in existence similar to HBS 2+2!

I’m not very confident about the GRE. I sucked in the Verbal section of the SAT (English is my 2nd language) and I think the GMAT would be a better fit. Besides, I would have to take the GRE during school. The GMAT is offered every day all summer which is much more convenient.

So is the GMAT solely for MBAs? Everybody who applies to HBS 2+2 will probably have to take the test again if they get rejected?(Considering that B-Schools don’t like a test that 4 1/2 years old!)

Another question. I’ll graduate early(3 years). Do you think that will be a disadvantage for HBS 2+2?
How important are extra curricular activities? I heard that they are not as important when it comes to graduate school…

at one point in your junior year do yoy apply to the 2+2?

GMAT?GRE are both fine, take it whenever you wish to do so.

I am taking the GMAT this summer (summer between junior and senior year of college) I always thought that this was the best time to take the exam because you are still in the “test taking” mode while still enrolled in school. I think that if one was to wait a few years after graduation they won’t be at their peak in regards to test taking ability

You can apply with either GRE or GMAT for the Harvard 2+2. And if you’re unsure about your other options (i.e., if you are interested in pursuing a masters), taking the GRE will save you some time since you can reuse those scores in applying to schools for your other degrees.

And there are two other programs that I’ve heard of which are similar to the 2+2. The Yale Silver Scholars Program is one. My memory fails me as to what the other one was.

The deadline for this year’s application is in 7 days, so at the end of your junior yr.
