The ominous dot dot dots... Lol. Anyway, as we have 2 or so weeks until decisions come out, I for one, know I am going to be beside myself with anticipation and anxiety so I was thinking that maybe we can figure out some good distractions besides the usual homework for the 5 or so AP classes we have lol.

Some of my favorite inspirational quotes:
-“The larger the island of knowledge, the longer the shoreline of wonder.” -Ralph W. Sockman
-“Bite off more than you can chew, then chew it.” -Ella Williams
-“We are not retreating - we are advancing in another direction.” -General Douglas MacArthur
-“Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.” -Winston Churchill
-“He who has a ‘why’ to live can bear with almost any ‘how.’” -Friedrich Nietzsche
-“Some things have to be believed to be seen.” -Ralph Hodgson
-“You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don’t try.” -Beverly Sills
-“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” -Sir Winston Churchill
-“Whether you believe you can do a thing or not, you are right.” -Henry Ford
-“The tragedy in life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach.” -Benjamin Mays
-“The purpose of life is a life of purpose.” -Robert Byrne

Hang in there! Don’t panic. Don’t stress. Everything will be wonderful. <3 + =)

In the spirit of the season, you would think the least that MIT could do would be to send all of our deferral letters a week or two early. They’re going to do it anyway, so why not relieve a little stress and let us enjoy the upcoming holidays? They can deliver the sad truth in the spring.

:)
:)

yeah, 2 weeks is kind of a long time to be in suspense knowing that statistically most get deferred (right?) and then ultimately rejected as demonstrated by the what is it? 9% admit rate…What do you know, the “2-week-til-decision” pessimism has set in in me…we will see how this goes, however not soon enough (I mean if I get in, I wouldn’t have minded the wait I guess)

I know this is just in jest, but, honestly, the reason MIT hasn’t given you guys your decisions yet is because the decisions haven’t yet been made. Even when they announce the date decisions will be delivered, decisions will not yet have been fully made.

There’s very little free time in the process, and they are truly working to get you your decision as soon as is humanly possible.
