So, I figured that we're all stressing about M10 these days ("these days" meaning less than a week to go...yikes!) and aside from putting a countdown on your computer's dashboard (and perhaps a paper one on your desk, and one by your bed, and one in your locker) you feel that there is nothing you can do about decisions now, and thus resort to stressing. I figured that we could all let loose a little: "whip our hair", so to speak.

Thus, this thread is technically about March 10th. However, unlike other threads, it's not about the decisions that will come, or the countdown to the day, or people's schedules for the day that involve chasing the postman down the block and staying home from school and getting very little sleep.

This thread is for people to share things that they do to de-stress and to feel confident in themselves (and therefore in their applications!) and to help relax and distract so that when the big day comes, everyone is reasonably well-rested and excited. But in the good way, that doesn't involve tearing out hair and destroying large objects.

I read! I’m off now for two weeks so I’m reading, hanging out with friends, going to church, and watching seasons of Boy Meets World and The Office.!

I decided not to choose my favorite of the schools I’m applying to, in case I would totally fall in love with a school that would reject me. And also when the course listings came I put them in a special drawer to keep them in til M10 instead of reading them right away.

Choralpartita, I admire your self control. I have those course listings practically memorized :P

I’m actually surprising calm about everything at this point. I have a lot of events and things to do next week for student council so my mind won’t really be focused on March 10th. I also was assigned a pretty time consuming project to complete, distracting me further.

One thing to remember: Keep everything in perspective. Your life doesn’t depend on the decisions you hear next week. You are the same person you were 10 minutes before checking your mailbox as you will be 10 minutes after learning that you were accepted, waitlisted, or rejected. You are the only person holding yourself back from having the best possible experience at whatever high school you end up at.

lacrosse season started. too tired to think about M10…ohwait.

@Choralpartita - I don’t have a favorite at the moment, either. C:

I occupy myself with contests and such that have a time limit, so I wish time wouldn’t go so quickly. And when you wish that, time goes by very swiftly. 8D

I’m chaneling my anxiety for M10 into productive energy. I’m now ahead on all of my projects, and my friends are all astonished. I love the feeling of being ahead of schedule! :)

I’m just focusing on school and friends =) I’m not very anxious about the letters anymore…

Those few months of applications where pretty chaotic… so now, life is back to normal again.

Love that song.

I listen to music. Yep.
Planning to see if I can go see my favorite band live.
Takes my mind of things.

Good luck everyone!

Also, I’m taking full advantage of my Netflix account. I watched half a season of Law and Order: SVU yesterday. I love that show.

I’ve got rehearsals for the school musical, so that’s been keeping me nice and busy.
Also, hulu = new best friend. Heh.
