Pretty straightforward question. I'd be majoring in Managerial Econ at UC Davis or Business Econ at UC Irvine. I think UCD has some kind of UCB extension program, and I have no idea what UCI offers (such as a minor in accounting).

UCI has a accounting minor that is very competitive to get into and UCD you ether take the classes at Sac State or through the UCB extension. As for UCI my friend said you needed like a 3.6-3.7 for a chance to be considered for the accounting minor. She left UCI and will be heading to UCSC in the fall.

Yep, even the couselor from UCI told me their Accounting Minor is competive, one other thing, their Busi.Econ is not in the Business school, the Social Sciences Department is "helping the Business School out"..c'mon! I'm giving up UCI for these 2 reasons eventhough I signed TAG with them.

Dang, I had no idea minors could be so competitive. So UCI is looking a little iffy, though I'm still not sure how it compares to UCD. I'm assuming Managerial Econ at UCD is in the same situation as Business Econ w/ UCI, no?

Anyone know about the availability of UCD's UCB extension program? What's that about taking classes at Sac State? o.O

I can't remember the other link talking about Sac State and UCB extension. I can only imagine that Sac State accounting would be impacted too as accounting seems to be impacted at a lot of school, but then again I'm only assuming.

As for Business Econ at UCI and Managerial Econ do not replicate the traditional
undergraduate business school curriculum So I would look see which program you like more on what type of classes you will be taking at each and which campus you like more.

Suck as next year UCI is accepting transfers for their UG Business admin major, but there looking at only taking 15 people and I doubt you can switch at UCI.

Yesssssss I just got into UC Santa Barbara. I take it UCSB is the best of the three for accounting? It has an accounting minor (better than UCD), and its minor probably isn't that hellishly competitive (UCI).

Can anyone shed some light into this? I'm pretty damn sure I want to go to UCSB over UCI and UCD, but does anyone have any precautions about accounting at UCSB?

My friend also said UCSB's accounting program is better than UCI's, but she didn't back that up with any evidence. I am on the same boat as you to decide which UC to attend based on the accounting program they offer. :)
