I have finished all my apps and now I am searching for a dress for graduation. I need a floor length white dress (basically a bridal dress, just not poofy)... I tried David's Bridal but hated all of their dress, does anyone have any ideas of where to go to get a dress? Any good websites?

We have to wear white dresses at our graduation as well though ours don't have to be floor length. I already bought mine at Jessica McClintock so perhaps you could try there because I know they specialize in long dresses like that.

Anyway, I absolutely despise shopping (malls make me claustrophobic), so if you find anything that's cute, you should post a link. I am not looking forward to having to do graduation dress shopping.

Ours have to be white too, though not floor length.

bluefly.com is hit or miss, but sometimes you can find really good stuff... also, at this time of year the outlets have tons of dresses deeply discounted from last summer, I just bought a few BCBG dresses for 'senior dinner/sports banquet, etc.,' that were only ~ $50 each

and I thought only my hs did that...white grad dresses are so pretty-it's so nice to see the whole class, each putting their own twist on it, but looking unified and happy

Look around in normal, non-dressy stores. That way, you'll find cheaper dresses that you can wear for multiple different occasions. For example, I got this dress in white and a few similar ones from J. Crew last year. This one was definitely good enough for graduation, but it's also good if I need to dress up for something else. It's not floor length but you can see what I'm talking about:

I have to do the white dress thing, too, but ours doesn't have to be floor length.

HisGraceFillsMe: I don't know about anyone else here, but I go to an all girls boarding school and for graduation we wear white dresses instead of caps and gowns. As far as I know, it's fairly common at all girls schools.

yeah i go to an all girls school so we don't wear caps/gowns

so i went to Loehmanns and found a FABULOUS Calvin Klein dress.. originally $450 for $30.... its too big but can be altered! i also found a GORGEOUS CK dress from nordstroms (it looks SO Pretty on!)... i'll decide between the two

I go to an (small, private) all girls school myself.

May Day (sophomores gift to the seniors) we wear (floor length) white dresses.

Graduation we wear the same style dress, but in a pale pink (I dreaded the idea for years, but now it's starting to grow on me because of how big a tradition it is).
No caps and gowns for us.

I didn't mention this earlier, but I think it's actually relevant. At our school, boys wear royal blue caps and gowns, and girls wear white caps and gowns. Since the material isn't that thick--you have to wear white underneath. Loud patterns or colors would show right through. You could probably get away with ivory if you wanted to. Since I'm pale, ivory looks funky on me. It's a little too close to my skin tone.

I got my graduation for high school (small private catholic girls school) and all of my Sorority white dresses from this wonderful designer KATHLIN ARGIRO!

She has a great selection of short, tea length, and floor length white dresses!

In high school it was hard to find a dress because of specific strap width requirements and such, but she was totally accommodating.

I had two daughters graduate from Catholic girls school who needed White Graduation dresses. I had such a hard time finding a dress that met the school's strict dress requirements (i.e. 2 inch straps, stark white fabric).

Then I found this designer that specializes in white graduation dresses! Kathlin Argiro was a total godsend and my daughters looked beautiful in their dresses!
