I thought I would ask if anyone else has applied for the summer session (May 22-August 14). When did you turn in your entire application? Have you gotten the confirmation email yet?

Just curious to see if anyone from CC applied for the upcoming cycle :)

My son was going to apply, but with only 3 weeks to get together the required recommendations, he ran out of time. He had two letters, but needed three. He’s going to apply for next fall.

Yeah, the 3 week turnaround almost became a problem when I applied because one of my former teachers didn’t respond to my email for almost a week at which point I was freaking out that they wouldn’t be able to write the letter in time.

i applied. i sent everything in the day it was due but i havent received a confirmation yet. i called them and a recording said something about they would be sending confirmations by the end of the week but i still havent received anything.

Yeah, I emailed my stuff the Saturday morning the Sunday before it was due (so the 21st of March). I just got a confirmation email two days ago on the 27th of March (the following Friday). So hopefully you’ll get one sometime soon. Probably tomorrow? If you’re interested I copied the body of the email below!

Greetings!

This email is to notify you that your complete application for the White House Internship Program – Summer Session has been received and is currently being reviewed. Candidates will be notified in approximately three weeks if they have been accepted into the program. If you are selected as a participant you will need to locate housing. In preparation we suggest you look into potential housing options which include: local dorm housing, apartment sublets, or rooming with friends and family

i still haven’t received a confirmation email yet. i called them and no one picks up, its just a recording saying if you have questions then you should email them. so i emailed and said that i just wanted to make sure that they had received my information and i haven’t a reply for that either. should i be concerned?

I have no idea. This is because I just got the confirmation email…Again.

So now I’m confused. It’s quite literally the same email word-for-word. But they sent it a week later (yesterday). so I’m guessing something happened and that they’re re-sending everything? I have NO idea what’s going on.

When did you email? I know when I emailed them about the old form it took them about 4 days to get back to me, and that was before they had applications to review! I would definitely wait 4-5 days before sending an additional email to the one you sent asking if everything went OK, just to be courteous.

I recieved the same message twice. The website reads that applicants will be notified by April 20th of their acceptance into the program. I didnt read anything about receiving a phone call prior to being notified.

I wanted to inquire and ask for some advice regarding the White House Internship Program. Any help?

Is anyone else doing Memos for this internship, what a great idea for them to include this part of the application. Any advice would be much appreciated!

I just recently applied to the White House Internship program. The memo thing is kind of an unorthodox but cool part of the application. I’d recommend writing something that you’re passionate about, personally.

Hey guyz! I’ve applied for the Summer 2010 internship and got the confirmation email. So waiting for their response. Best luck to all those who applied!
@ DCSPORTSFAN, thanks for the thread!
