My interview was very short. All they did was explain to me what I would be doing in that office and asked if I was okay working M-F 9-6. I was expecting way more questions and the opportunity to elaborate on any experiences or skills, but they didn’t ask me anything like that.
@binkyg That could be a good sign! It could mean you are their top choice and they just want to make sure you won’t back down after you find out all the information!
@studenttranser28 They were considering me for two, one was the office of second lady and the other one was… something like… office of liaison? A lot of the ones they listed on the call were actually different from what’s on the website. They told me they would let me know in about a week or a week and a half. They said it’s taking a bit longer because of the holiday.
@Katie131 Okay that is awesome! It is a really good sign that they are already envisioning you in two of the departments. That timeline matches up pretty well with the July 9 notifications period but I agree I’m sure the holiday added a delay for all of us!!
Only a few more days…
Ah. I can’t wait. It’s all I’ve been thinking about.
Do you guys live near DC or are you going to be travelling there if you get the internship?
@adesa1996 I’d be coming from Portland Oregon, so my husband and I will be quitting our jobs for this.
I’m surprised that people are still applying to the White House internship
Oh gotcha. At least theres another West Coast person applying!
@shawnspencer why do you say that?
@adesa1996 I dunno… the White House just seems to be like a bit of a toxic place to work right now
Anyone hear back yet?
Nope…
Not yet
Does anyone know how many applications are usually received?
I got a call today from them! They wanted my full middle name (I’m assuming for a background check).
Idk how many people apply but I’m assuming less than summer term since everyone is back in school
Anyone hear anything today?
.
Just got an email. Accepted!
