White House Internship Spring 2021

@audreyanab

Yeah, that’s what I’m hoping! If anything happens - I will post. Maybe this thread will start to generate more activity in the coming weeks.

I had an interview a few weeks ago and was directly reached out to by the specific office. Decisions start coming out the week of November 9!!

If the President loses re-election, is the program completely canceled for the following semester?

I also interviewed a few weeks ago. Have you received a security clearance form? I haven’t and I am worried.

I cannot access my account

I tried to login and it prompted me to change my password. After I changed my password it let me in, though. Did it ask you to change your password or it just didn’t work?

when did it have you change your password

It asked me to change it when I logged in!

Hi! I’m new to this website so pardon me if I reply to your comment! I’m a current college freshman and I’ve been thinking of interning at the white house when I can. What are some things I should do to help make my application stand out? And how was the application process?

I haven’t gotten accepted yet, but I have had two Congressional internships so I think I can help answer your question. I would get GOOD grades, it is very important to have a good GPA! Focus on class. Also, be involved in groups that you find intriguing. I was in my resident political party club on campus. I also volunteered with political campaigns, that would be helpful as well. Foster good relationships with your professors so that they will write you good letters of recommendation, too.

I forgot to add, the application process was not that extensive. I don’t remember how many, but you need letters of recommendation (I think I submitted two?), you fill out a few pages of short answer prompts regarding yourself and the administration, and then you write a couple of essays.

Thanks your comment helped answer my question! Although I am wondering if its better to intern after graduating college so that you can intern without worrying about missing a semester, or doing it during college and missing a semester. I wish you, and everyone else luck!

Has anyone heard anything?

I haven’t.

If anyone hears anything, please post

Has anyone reached out? Or should we assume that it’s a nonstarter? Maybe I just didn’t get accepted. I would appreciate any info at this point!

I still haven’t heard anything yet, but I went and looked at the spring 2020 thread and saw that people got accepted on a Friday, so maybe we will hear back tomorrow.

Did everyone receive the email tonight about delaying the decisions? I’m starting to wonder if they will even have the internship at all.

Bump on this. I know they wrote about delaying decisions, but if Biden is inaugurated, will they still have the program?

Hey, did everyone receive the “we are not making offers for Spring 2021” email?
