White House Internship- Summer 2017

I’m a third-year. I don’t think my case is exceptional–they really do seem to be trying to interview everyone quickly.

I sent in my application on Friday March 31, has anyone else heard or received anything via email, besides the ones who already received emails regarding the first interviews?

Submitted 3/28 and nothing so far. Hoping that doesn’t mean I am out of luck…

@BuilderOfWalls , I submitted mine that day too. I’m sure we just have to be patient and wait

Submitted my application in mid march. Two days later got a interview that lasted only 20 minutes suprisingly, was told I would be contacted later by another department for an interview.

Did they give you concrete details? For me they just said “and if one of the offices has any questions about your application they will call you, but it is possible for people to be accepted without an interview with a specific office.”

@dannyo95
oh so it is possible to be accepted without an interview? I can’t believe how quickly they are replying to some people about interviews. Makes me anxious ahaha

At the end of my interview, I asked what is the next step in the process and they said that a staffer from one of the departments I chose would contact me sometime.

@adesa1996 congrats on the internship! Quick question, are you in uni?/ what year?? took a gap year through a US program, so am finishing my first year in Uni. I wonder if they take newer college students lol

Lol oh I didn’t get it just yet, I wish. I think its definitely a good sign. Currently I am a junior at a military college.

@floisprogressiv4 I should have been clearer. You can be interviewed by 1. a general staffer or 2. an office. You typically get interviewed by #1 (not sure if you can be accepted without a #1 interview). You can be accepted by an interview without #2.

@dannyo95 gotcha! thanks for the clarification ! still hoping for the email ahahah it’s still early though

@floisprogressiv4 Most of the people I’ve been in touch with are in the same situation as you. Don’t worry.

@dannyo95 thanks for the reassurance ahaha! again, congrats again on the interview !

I wouldn’t look at the past administration’s protocol on the internship program. This an entirely new administration that is like no other and they maybe be handling things very differently.

Also here is a link I found some of you may find interesting:

That’s a good point @ahop95. I was using such reasoning as a proxy for until we received more information–which we have and will continue to thanks to this thread!

I read that article. I found it very interesting and more than a bit speculative. We’ll have to see who they actually admit

Has anyone considered calling the White House to see if there is an update on any information?

I hear Jared is handling the process.

Is that a joke @doschicos? If so, it is a very funny one!

I don’t know that there is a number you can call to speak to someone about the internship? But that’d be great if there was! I’m still waiting for an email/call as well and I’m getting so anxious.
