@ahop95 what exactly is a DR form?
Google SF86, I believe its the same form.
Hey Everyone, Submitted March 30th haven’t heard back yet. Has anyone who submitted close to the 31st heard anything yet? Trying to figure out if they simply got swamped and are digging through all the applications or if I should assume I am not in the running. Thoughts?
@DSP224 as far as I know nobody who turned it in within the last few days have heard anything. Makes me wonder if our applications have even been looked at that thoroughly because I’m sure there are individuals that are very deserving who submitted it in those final days.
@Conn9514 what work did you do for the campaign?
@lowermerion I was a campaign county chair in my state. Helped recruit volunteers, made calls, helped with rallies and also met him. Was able to get a picture and signature with both Trump and Pence.
It’s pretty frustrating if timing had something to do with it. My application would have been ready much earlier, but I had to wait for letters of recommendation, since I told my writers to have them done by the deadline.
Ugh
This is very nerve-wrecking.
Had my interview on the 31st and still no DR forms
I’m going to assume that I didn’t get the position if I haven’t received anything by next week
Does anyone know what is the latest they are likely to call for an interview. I feel like they have a very small amount of time to handle all these applications… Worried they simply are not going to get through them all.
@Conn9514 Thanks so much for the response. Nice to know what it could be! Best of luck to you - who knows we might get lucky enough to work with each other this summer!
I think that this might be a year where the interns are hearing about positions as little as two weeks out from the start date. I think its pretty realistic since its already 4/14 and DRs just went out for some few folks earlier this week. Because of the new administration, it may be a scramble.
So I thought people would be interested to know, I sent an email to find out if they had rolling admissions and a rough timeline of the application acceptance date. Here’s what was said:
Thank you for your interest in the White House Internship Program. All applicants to the Summer 2017 White House Internship Program term will be notified of their final application status in late April. You or your recommenders may be contacted in the meantime, as applications are still going through the review process.
Seems like they still haven’t looked at all the applications.
Anyone newly interviewed or received a DR form?
No contact at all…
Can anyone who has already had their interview post the questions they were asked and/or generally what to expect during the interview?
Who did you vote for in the last election?
Why do you want to be part of the Trump Administration?
What do you expect to learn from this experience?
How will you be an asset to your Department?
Haven’t heard anything. I wish they would have at least given me a chance to interview. I feel like they might have skipped over my application because I have an internship at NBC…
I feel the same way @sclair11. I have had an internship with my governor, worked on the campaign and served as the state wide President of a large organization. Thought I had a pretty good chance at getting an interview. Definitely applying for the fall session though.
Yeah I’d really like to see more details on what they are looking for in terms of experience. I’m thinking of applying in the Fall also but not sure how I would get credit for it.
Interviewing tomorrow, do you have any advice?? Any questions that caught you off guard? @dannyo95
