White House Internship

It was a DPC department that interviewed me! pretty excited!

That’s cool. Sonal Shah heads the office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation. I am sure you will enjoy working there if you get the internship. I am waiting to hear back. I am not sure if they interview everyone. I will keep you all updated.

yeah keep us updated!
I feel like they may interview everyone, but I am not exactly sure!

I just interviewed for the Office of Scheduling and Advance. Crossing my fingers. Has anyone else heard from any other office than this or those within the Domestic Policy Council? Like Office of the Chief of Staff or Political Affairs?

I know they don’t interview everyone. Based on past conversations in this very long thread, people have been accepted without an interview. I guess it really depends on the office.

cool. how did it go? How do you think you did?
yeah, i looked at past posts and apparently you can get in without an interview!

Congrats! Was your interview this morning? Were you notified beforehand?

Hi guys,

Any new updates for today? Has anyone from any other office heard anything via email or phone? For those of you that have had interviews, were the offices your first options? Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us!

To be honest, I don’t think I was very impressive at all. My interviewer seemed to want to know more about my personality and whether I’d be a great fit with her department than she was about my qualifications…which was not what I was expecting or had prepared for. Soo I was suuper awkward…but I’m always super awkward in phone interviews.

And yup, I was notified beforehand. I read in previous threads that people received calls without warning that proceeded into a 15 min conversation. So again, it all depends on the department. It seems the applications have been sent out beyond the main office and different departments are calling the applicants they are interested in for their own departments.

okay, well you NEVER know! keep your head up and hopefully we will ALL be there!

Anyone else have the same experience? I am hopeful that I made the cut, but with the passing of days I wonder if I am even being considered further?

I am right there with you MBA. I’m really concerned…

nooo guys don’t worry! :frowning:
each department is responsible for the calls. my thinking is that they are just making their way to interviewing everyone!
They all have your package and you will probably get a call during this week. Plus remember, even though they said decisions will come around nov. 15th that is not considering the extended deadline! So there is still time!

Aww thanks Caramel! I love the support on this forum, nobody else knows what we are all going through!

I’m just as nervous :frowning: hopefully the midterm elections and trip to India has slowed things down… positive thoughts all around!

Yes. We need to stay positive. I am waiting to hear back too after I sent my vitals and two writing samples. Hopefully, I will hear back this week as I do understand that starting next week they will start notifying us!!

This waiting seriously sucks. I’ve been way less productive than usual during this process!

meeee 2! everyday I am checking emails and this board!!! aaaahhh. waiting is THE hardest part, forsure!

you can still get a position without an interview

So, so far people on this forum have heard from DPC and Office of Scheduling and Advance? Where are all the other offices?! What were your guys’ top choices?

My first two choices were health care, I chose it twice haha!
