I don’t think my recommenders have been contacted, from their reactions… What about you guys?</p>
<p>Mine haven’t…I’m not sure what to make of the fact that they haven’t because they called me after my interview and asked for the phone number of a reference. The name/number I gave them was one who wrote one of my recommendations so I’m hoping that’s why they didn’t call.</p>
<p>I’ve overanalyzed this WAY too much it just seems odd to me that they would call after my interview and ask for a reference and then not call her. I would think that after the interview if they weren’t going to consider me further they wouldn’t have bothered to call but at the same time I feel as if they were considering me further they would have called. BLAH this is what waiting does to you!!!</p>

<p>Ems, you’re first instinct is most probable, they wouldn’t have bothered asking for the information if they weren’t considering you further; they just seem behind in the decision making process. I’m pretty sure my references have not been contacted. Have anyone’s refs been contacted?</p>

<p>Man, so much adrenaline! My email said they are still processing my app and will let me know soon!</p>
<p>I think you could do it in a way that doesn’t even identify yourself…for example: “hi, I was offered another internship today but am still waiting to hear back from the white house. Do you have an idea of when we will be notified so I can notify them?” Or something along those lines. Either way, I don’t think it would jeopardize your application</p>
