White House Internship

Some guy just tweeted that he got the internship. Did anyone else find out?

Nothing here… eep. Fingers crossed.

Nothing here also. I wish we could get an answer ASAP… This wait is worse than rejection. At least we can move on to other things if we’re rejected… Don’t think I’ve ever checked my email as often as I did for the past month.

nope nothing.

Nope still waiting:(

Nothing Yet. Still Waiting. The wait is excruciating! I hope they will give us atleast a date as to when they would finally decide. I already lost one internship opportunity. I am not sure how long I can delay the others.

I haven’t heard anything yet, either. The government offices I have worked in close at 6pm. If that’s the case, then we have another 55 minutes to likely hear back from the White House–assuming that they are operating on the same timeline. Whoever said the wait was excruciating is right.

It’s a good thing I’m occupied with my papers right now… No time to fill out applications for jobs or other opportunities at this point.

i think I found a few people who received responses through a twitter search…unless I just don’t know how to read twitterspeak and it’s just a lot of retweets…

This wait is starting to get more excruciating now that some notifications are out.

I’m pretty sure all the tweets are about the same person, so that’s just one.

there is definitely more than one =)

looks like 3ish…

No, it’s all about the same guy. And no word here, either.

Yea, it’s just one guy.

Just be patient, it is weird that it is already 12/6 and none of us know? I would have thought, and that was the way that it sounded in my interview that we would have found out last week. It is getting scary as there are so many factors to address if you get accepted and have to move to DC for almost 4 mos.

I’m starting to feel like Kirk Cameron in Left Behind…

Hahahahahaha… I mean, I really want the internship, too, but it’s not quite the Rapture!

HAHA, you never know… ;-)

you guys are funny.

just checked twitter…another person was accepted! ahhh lets hope all notifications will be sent out soon

For those of you who have other options and are interning in DC regardless, what are you doing for housing?

I will be staying with friends, but I didn’t used to. I’ve done four internships in DC, and for all of them, I found a sublet downtown. Staying at the universities, i.e. American, George Mason, Georgetown, etc., is the most expensive thing you can do. Craigslist is really good source.

Also, in my experience, interns usually spend time together after work or in the evening, so make sure that wherever you choose to stay isn’t too far from downtown. It may not seem that significant now, but networking with other interns is really important. That is why I have a friend to stay with this time around.
