Thank you to those of you who have shared that you’ve been notified of a decision. Heavenly Stardust, so you got a ‘still processing’ AND a decision tonight?

I haven’t received anything except the “application still in process” message.

“Still processing.”

I received both the processing email and a decision. Good luck to all still waiting to hear.

Were those who received a decision advised not to discuss that decision?

I received notification yesterday and yes, np006 is correct.

something weird is going on. those 2 guys on twitter who got the internship and we found out through a twitter search because other public accounts retweeted them? if you click on their profile now, their account says that it no longer exists. but a couple of days ago, their accounts were very much active and just private- that’s why we couldn’t see them respond to people asking about their department, etc. (but you can do a simple google search on their accounts and it will show up as active)

the theory i have in my head is pretty ridiculous and embarrassing to share but feels probable, also the other thought in my head as to why this process took so long has something to do with an additional background check into whether we searched wikileaks or something.

anyway congratulations to those whose notifications went the way we wanted, and good luck to the rest of us still waiting for news.

Hey All! Good luck, from people I have talked to, I believe first round of acceptance letters have gone out! If you did not get one, you still have a chance, good luck!

I am not sure if you can answer this question, but are the people who are saying “I received a response” using code to say that they got the internship or does that mean that you did not get the position. I am very confused in regard to the last few posts and the more information you can give without threatening your position would be greatly appreciated. If you got it congratulations!!!

In light of recent posts, and out of respect for the wishes of the internship office, I will maintain radio silence and cease speculation until the process is complete. Good luck, everyone!

“out of respect for the wishes of the internship office?”

did they request something specific within a congratulatory notification? you don’t have to answer this, i’m just posting this because i’m concerned about what seems to be a sign of official concern by the internship office over public discussion.

i am not trying to be vindictive. every negative speculation i have expressed here is a result of my decision to express a few public thoughts- thoughts that are very reasonable and completely within my rights to express, and to express anonymously. i am merely an active participant in a legal public discussion about - for goodness sake!- an unpaid government internship program. i am not going to let you make me feel guilty for that. doesn’t anyone else find it a bit concerning of the thought that the internship office is actively reading this thread and making decisions to take an active approach (that may include consequences)? they are taking an unreasonably amount of time in processing this. if this were a private company, we would be commenting on how this reflects badly on the company because this counts as public engagement.i just think it’s unfair how i should feel in the wrong for commenting on that in itself.

i’m not asking for any responses to this post, i just felt it was important to call out what has developed in this thread this evening.

but really, congratulations to all those who were accepted!

i just noticed and i think it’s hilarious how most of us created a CC account just to participate in this forum and through all the neurotic postings (OK, pretty much just me LOL) over the past few weeks, quite a few of us have risen from the status of “New Member” to “Junior Member.”

i swear, in real life, i can be pretty fun and sane and only a tad crazy. my whinternhopeful alias is pretty insane and i’m expiring it tonight. i’ll be sure to come back for one last post when i receive my notification.

My gut feeling is that the acceptance notifications have gone out and they have asked people to maintain silence about it and not speak to the press as well as I have heard this from last year’s winners.

It is “Probable” or “Likely” that they are keeping a list of backup candidates incase the ones that are accepted do not either, accept it or there is a problem with their background clearance.

Suddenly this forum has gone quiet. I am sure all those who have got accepted are savoring their success
Good luck to those who got accepted.

To those of us who are still in the waiting list, I can only wish that they do not keep us in the suspense for long.

lol. Yes, Jonas123, the forum did seem to clear out pretty quickly. I’m glad that I’m not the only one who hasn’t heard anything yet. Have you? I’m hoping that we find out soon. Keep your fingers crossed, and I’m sending positive energy your way.

Congrats to all of those who were accepted.

GRFL289 - I received an email stating that they are still processing my application. I have no clue how long this is going to take. Whatever the result, ultimately it will work out for the best. I am sure that all those who applied are well qualified and there is always a place for qualified candidates somewhere in the U.S. to serve the country and do public service. Good candidates are always in demand and if one agency does not select them, some other will select them. It is karma! Good Luck.

From what I gathered from my last discussion with a staff member within the White House, at least some acceptance letters have yet to come out. Wait-listing is done in an explicit fashion.

Why do we think that acceptance letters have gone out already and that we’re wait listed? Did a White House official say that?

Well, has anyone heard anything?

Scroll back like a page. A few people have heard already, and people have been tweeting their acceptance since Monday.
