White House Internship

Got a vitals email on the eighth, ten days later still nothing

And Monday is a federal holiday. Sigh. My guess is that my daughter will get another internship offer and have to commit before the WH gets moving. She will take the bird in the hand if that happens, I suspect.

So it’s been 10 days since the vitals has come out, and the wait is really becoming unbearable. Please, please post on this page if you receive an interview (or have already received one!). You don’t need to say with what department, but I think it would put us all at ease just to know if interviews have already begun or not.

There is a strong possibly that all of us on this blog were not selected for interviews, and thats why we have not heard anything yet. It is also a possibility that those viewing the thread are looking for answers and in the dark as well (have not received any contact after the Vitals email), so they aren’t responding. I hope someone comes across this thread and simply tells us they got an interview if they did, like the poster before me said:

You don’t have to be specific or anything.
Or even say if it went well or not.

I don’t buy it. A fair number of people posting on this thread in the past did get interviews, although some did not (and they were posting before they got the interviews). I think they are just behind… if you have read the whole thread, you will note that this WH has pushed out almost every date they originally committed to in the internship interview/offer process. I would not assume that no one posting/watching this thread is going to be interviewed. 10 days isn’t really that long. Given that it is only February, and the January interns didn’t find out until November, I do not think you guys have missed the interview window…

Still waiting on my end as well. I think its safe to say no one has heard anything after the vitals. This thread would be EXPLODING if they had, like in the past…

Hello,

I had my interview today for my first choice office–and a friend had an interview yesterday with her first choice. We are both studying abroad and were contacted the day before via email to set up a time.
So I guess that means the interviews have started? Good luck to everyone, I’m sure you will hear about an interview soon!

thank you user12345 for taking the time to create a new account and posting on this blog! now we have a better idea where we stand…

Its hard to confirm whether or not this new user is telling the truth. He/she could be a ■■■■■ or flame…whatever the term is. However, if this person is real then I was right :-).

If not, I apologize for the accusation and I wish you the best!

hahaha No problem  I’m real (it’s a she) and telling the truth (I love that, ■■■■■ or flame…what does that even mean?)…I’m not a big chat room/thread/posting type of person, so I was content on just following the thread as I was having the same concerns and questions as everyone posting. But when I had an interview and people asked for more information I decided I would respond…since I had been wondering as everyone else. My interviewer seemed to imply that the interview process for all the offices would be going on for a while and decisions would take even longer, so be patient, I’m sure you will hear soon! Good luck!

So perhaps now I’m more stressed than before. Lol no calls yet. I appreciate those who are posting it makes everyone feel at least a little bit better knowing that things are starting to move along now. I wonder if the dates will get pushed back or if they had been calling all week with interviews as planned. In either case if you get an interview and selected please tell us. No need for details if u don’t wish to share just where u are in the process is good enough. Good luck guys!

Got an interview on this past week after getting a vitals and writing sample request. Interviewer also suggested the process would take a while.

Judging my the previous intern posts, each department will go at their own pace and respond back…it all depends on what your selections were!!

Hey everyone
I am new to this but I saw all of your post and had to join in. I am also waiting on my status
Did all of you recieve a confirmation email after submitting your “vitals”? This waiting is so tough, hopefully more of us hear something next week

I don’t think the WH confirms receipt of the vitals (or anything at that matter) since they are so inundated with emails. I didn’t get anything, and it seems like people in the past did not get anything either…

Okay, that makes me feel better. I saw one person say that did get a email confirming that all of their vitals were in. I didn’t get that email though. I wouldn’t worry too much yet because the site says notifications begin the week of the 21 on a “rolling basis”

First time poster. Didn’t get a vitals email. Haven’t heard a peep out of the program since getting application/recommendation receipt confirmations. Can’t say I’m not disappointed but let’s be real…a 5%ish acceptance rate is low. I’m resubmitting for Fall as we speak. It’s sad since I was under the impression I had decent qualifications. I suppose you folks have me beat. Best of luck!

Notifications begin tomorrow. Good luck to all!

Do you think that if we haven’t been interviewed at this point that we probably missed the window or do you think they will be continuing with interviews concurrently with notifying people? I hope it’s the latter because I can’t believe that they would get all the interviews done in a week…all the same, best of luck to everyone this week!

Interviews will continue for a while. This is all part of the rolling basis process.
