adnap, dude I love your sense of optimism/wish I shared it. Wait, are you sure rejection emails went out the week notifs began? The other reason for the silence could be that interns who are selected are instructed to not post about it on the internet.

Oh and I havent seen a single example of an individual without a vitals email being accepted when I read the entirety of this thread.

i am nervous because i did receive a vital letter…but no sign of interview :(

@goldensunflower: I know what you mean. I am in the exact same boat. I received the vitals e-mail three weeks ago but I haven’t even been contacted to schedule an interview yet! I’m starting to think maybe this time is not my time. Oh well. I guess there’s always fall…

Same, Golden and Harry Potter lover. Got the vitals and no sign of anything else. I am starting to get really nervous/sad but like everyone has said, it’s not over until it’s over!

Also, I’m pretty positive no one has heard back yet that they got the internship…just based on the people I know who got interviews etc.

Same here guys- got the vitals although I must say I received my vitals at 10:30pm which makes me wonder if it’s automated??? I hope not but I have to wonder since I don’t think they are working at that time but who knows. Anyhow no calls yet and no signs of an extension. Fingers still crossed, faith still alive, and hope in my heart though. :-)

That’s not super weird about getting it at 10:30, I’m sure it’s automated, I got mine at 5:45 p.m.and my friend got his an hour later…

Has any one heard anything?

nothing (good or bad) here

tick tock tick tock

anyone who had an interview, what was the interview about? do you have to answer quesitons and stuff? It will be awesome if one can just simply mention i guess cuz i am worried about the interview!

I stopped posting because I have not heard anything, so I’m moving on.

Good luck to the rest of you :-).

Thanks so much!! I can’t believe the deadline is SOOOOO close
Wish me luck.
Do you have to know alot about politics to get in? I’m interested in politics, but often don’t get a chance to catch the news or read the papers…

OH! who are we suppose to address the memo to? just “senior staffer” or are we suppose to look up the name of the person?

Is this a joke Susie Q…

@ dem1234, omg…

No! No joke, I swear! It may be a stupid question, but I want to make sure that everything turns out perfect on my application. It would be AMAZING to intern at the White House and I don’t want to make any mistakes to ruin this chance.

A truly qualified applicant would do the necessary research to figure out what to include in their application. If you have ever worked in a professional office or plan to in the near future, I would advise you to research how to write a proper memo. It is fairly simple, but consulting a forum is not in your best interest- I don’t think you should rely on anonymous sources for your application answers.

I don’t plan to apply in the fall, but if you are I don’t think it is wise to help each other with the application.

No worries! I’ve done loads of research over the past month and was just trying to seek maybe some additional information. I don’t want anyone to think I’m trying to take the “easy way” out of doing my own research. :)
