I was recently told that some candidates are not asked for their vitals because the white house already has their info. So if you have been to the white house recently and already had to provide your vitals for a background check, there should be no worries

I’m not sure about that, I talked to a few past interns and they said vitals was almost mandatory to be interviewed, the non vitals are only backups .

@liberalspirit when you talked to the past interns did they say whether the offices look at your application based on where you ranked them? do they go down the list of your ranked choices? For instances, if I rank OPA number 1 are they the first office that gets to review my application?

Yes, it’s by rank.

And the application goes through all of the Offices you preferenced? Thanks for your help liberalspirit!

Im not sure about that! I think they drop your app if it’s not up to par

Do you know if all the offices start interviewing at the same time? Or is each office on a different review schedule?

At this point I just want to know already

I had a very similar experience, except a week earlier for both the vitals e-mail and the phone interview.

I know the person interviewing me was for her office since she told me what she expected out of her interns and whether or not I was interested in working for/with her.

But, it could be for another office, as you stated.

I wonder how much longer we have to wait until we find out…

Sooo…

I had to take a break from the forum, because I was becoming really irritated with some of the absurd questions being asked (see my previous posts) & because I wanted to move on and not dwell.

I received an email asking for my availability for a phone interview. I emailed back and the interview was set. It lasted for 15 minutes tops. I think it went so-so, when I am excited to respond my brain tends to work too fast for my mouth and I stutter lol.Its not medical, its purely the higher power’s way of keeping me humble about my intelligence lol.

Before the questions began, I was told what office the interviewer was from, what he/ she did, what their office does, who is in charge of this office and what the interns who work there typically do. The questions were very general, some even seemed to mimic the online application questions in some ways. I will not be specific on the questions, because I believe the process will be compromised if the responses are not candid. Also, those who mentioned their offices included the office I was interviewed for…i.e. my competition lol.

It seemed like I was interviewing solely for this office and no other.

I was also told that I would be hearing from the Intern Office within the next 2 weeks. So, whoever mentioned before that my application process time line was a bit off because I skipped the fact that the offices send the applications back to the intern office (probably for final decisions), they are truly correct.

What office were you interviewed by??

Hey all -

I’ve been following this thread for a couple days now and I was wondering if anyone had advice for the boat I’m in. I did read one post about my situation but I was wondering if anyone else had some info…

I have not received a vitals email, however, I have not received a rejection letter, either. Still hope?

Thanks and good luck to everyone still stressing !

To GoogleGuy123: You can make your point without name calling and personal attacks. To say absurd questions were asked is quite different than saying someone is absurd or a “jerk” for that matter. You seem personally offended…is this the case? If so, I think it would have been best to send a private message discussing your distaste.

On patience: Everyone here has expressed their impatience at some point in the application process, and that is pretty much why most people come here to relieve their stress and annoyance at the process. I noted that I took a break from the forum and read in silence because I was irritated, this demonstrated patience and decency.

About the questions being asked: I was referring to questions that would completely compromise the application process anyway. Did you ask those sorts of questions or are you offended that I would not disclose the questions asked during the phone interview, but you did?

Completely unrelated: I will not disclose what office I interviewed for, sorry. Full disclosure will follow decision notifications.

To CuriousKitten1: I think so. I think those people are on reserve to get interviews if the offices do not find what their looking during the first batch of interviews. But not at all eliminated, because if that were the case they could have just sent a rejection letter weeks ago.

I completely agree with you on this one. Well said.

I’ve been reading this forum for the last few weeks, amazed at how much the process has developed since I applied.

While, I agree that West2East made some harsh comments, he or she makes a valid point in saying that the process should be protected, I’ve seen various posters giving away the questions asked, etc. When accepted, I was told not give away this kind of information and not to post the specifics of my interview. He/she could have been told the same thing.

I cannot agree with your use and overuse of the word jerk, it is inappropriate . As a former White House intern, I know your behavior would not be acceptable in whatever office you applied for.

Ultimately, lets all just play nice and try not to turn on each other before this is all over. Remember, your all in this together :-).

Good Luck to all…

To LetsAllPlayNice: It’s “you’re,” not “your all in this together.”

Did you work in correspondence or communications?

LAWL. I second that.

Assuming LetsAllPlayNice is who they say they are, barring the typos, I’ll play nice.

I will be the bigger person and not respond at all :-).

I wish everyone the best in their endeavors.

Come on everyone… let’s just move on. :-)

has anyone officially been accepted yet? i know that acceptees are told to avoid publishing on social networks such as this, but it would just be nice to know if acceptances have already gone out (since it seems that a few waves of rejections have already been sent)
