A lot of people said today was a big rejection day? I got the SP email Friday at 9:48 ish as well, nothing else yet…
I was so relaxed before I started reading all of this haha

AB, the past two cycles it has been! Which presents two ideas. 1- We don’t have as many finalists on CC this time around as there were in past cycles. OR 2- The White House simply has chosen to wait a few more days/might be slightly behind schedule.

Thanks for the backup WH2011

Well Poss, I believe you and wish you the best. As for myself, I am leaving this blog for good. I am too tired of the bickering, petty fights, hating, suspicion and overall negativity prevalent in so many people’s posts. That’s not to say that there have not been genuinely good and decent people (convig and liberalspirit come to mind) but overall, I am so unimpressed with the tenor of the debate on here. I was honestly expecting to find a nice community of people who supported one another but I am saddened by the level of cynicism. Good luck with the internships, everyone. May you find peace with each other.

I have some good news:

U.S. Department of Commerce Seeks Summer Interns
The U.S. Commercial Service Office of Domestic Operations is the export promotion arm of the International Trade Administration and we manage 108 Export Assistance Centers around the U.S. We can offer a variety of work experiences in the areas of exporter support and success reporting; Free Trade Agreement research and benefits marketing; trade event planning; export outreach organization management and more. According to one of our current interns, “Working as an intern in the Commercial Services Division of the International Trade Administration provides an excellent opportunity for team-building and collaborative practices, while also developing a working knowledge of federal government operations. We are looking for undergraduate or graduate business students with experience in research and good writing skills. We are interested in students with excellent teamwork skills and who are adept in Microsoft Excel, Word, and social media like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and other business networking sites. Students can send a resume, current transcripts and cover letter to Laura.hellstern@trade.gov

Thank you for your service Googleguy. I appreciate your bravery in defending us all. Best of luck everyone.

I hate waiting!!!

aren’t IQs generally static? so like, having a first grade IQ doesn’t make you dumb because it could have been real high when you were seven, probably higher than when you’re 18. I’m all for insulting people lets just be more accurate about it, you know?

This is the first time I have posted, and I haven’t heard anything as well. The best thing we can do is to keep holding out and living our lives. Good luck.

Moderator note: *I have attempted to clean up the most recent part of this thread of a spate of ■■■■■ posts and, of course, of the ■■■■■■ themselves.

I have also deleted a number of posts which were in response to those. So please do not be concerned if some posts by legitimate users have disappeared.

The thread is too lengthy for me to review it entirely. I hope this will set it back on track.*

Nothing at all…what a let down.

thank you moderator, much appreciated!

How do you determine if someone is a ■■■■■? (I’m just curious)

In regards to the internship…nothing in my email today at all.

thanks to whoever reported this to the moderator. this forum was getting ridiculous by the end of the day. nothing in my email either. another day, another day.

yes, today was rather disappointing. :[

nothing here.

and, yeah, thanks to whoever reported. i thought i was gonna have to give up on this board.

There is a God!!! Somebody actually cares enough about the forum to report the ignorance! Thank u to the person who did. I really appreciate it. Anyhow nothing yet on my side either. This is frustrating… Hopefully today we hear something.

Good luck guys!!

I don’t feel as though we’ll be waiting to hear back that soon. This process just like any process is filled with differences from internship class to internship class and there may be trends but it’s still completely different. Some may get phone calls, others may not. The point of the matter is chosing the best most qualified people for this internship. The internship team does great by narrowing down applicants, so a phone interview may not be necessary in some departments…or at all. So don’t feel as though there’s no hope if you don’t get a phone interview…you can’t interview all of the prospects of course. There’s still hope. No reason in giving it up. The deadline for the Fall 2011 Internship is this Sunday. Assuming they don’t want a work overload…I feel as though we’ll be receiving a decision either this week, or next week. Good Luck to everyone.

Interestingly, the moderator removed the posts from the person who claimed to have been accepted yesterday, along with the person giving them a hard time. So… I don’t know if we can even say that one acceptance has been received in this group.

I agree with you intparent; I thought it was interesting to see that all those posts had been deleted. I’m sure this forum will be flooded with posts once people start getting the “Thank you for applying” email vs. the “Conditional acceptance” one.

Yay, legitimate forum again. No one I know, who has applied, has received any further notification after the “Application Still In Process”. Only days before we all know…best of luck to you all.
