White House Internship

Sorta hope people would give up and move on after a couple of unsuccessful applications… :)

They extended the deadline so it’s only fair they have more time to sort through all of the applicants.

do you guys think that a fall app extension may be imminent considering they may not be done?

oh and I found the cycle that jeap was referring to. he/she is right. the accepted vs rejected ratio for them was not pretty.

So, if we’ve only gotten the SP email, no vitals no nothing, should we just expect a rejection?

If we had legitimate info that others had gotten acceptances, then you might think jeap is right. But I do not believe we have… correct me if I have forgotten something, though.

On a happier note, my daughter got an invitation today to interview with one of our senators next week for an internship. I assume most of you have other applications pending as well or plans in case this doesn’t work out?

I am going to be interning in NYC with the United Nations if this doesn’t work out, I have them on hold, I’d love the White House internship though…

I am undergrad! Sent you a private msg! You’ll have to shift and search on those, they change annually for undergrads.

I wish I had other options. If I don’t get the internship I’ll probably just end up working the entire summer. I’m only a senior in high school so I’ll be graduating. But hopefully I’ll end up being in this intern class!

Hey all,

I am waiting still like everyone else. Just wanted to pass along another option that is viable for people in college and those who have not attended yet. Organizing for America is another great democratic internship, it’s unpaid, but if you move to a swing state they pay for your housing. My friend did it last year, and he said it was a great experience, you had a lot of responsibility and made a lot of contact with voters and other liberal activists. The application is open until April 1st, so you still have time. Just a thought, for all of those looking for a plan B. :)

@dem what’s the website?

Enjoy!

Dem, good call. I had applied for this a few weeks ago and got a follow up call from OFA yesterday.

I think tomorrow may be DDay for this internship.

All right, I decided to come back now that all the ■■■■■■ are gone and the nice people have returned  @Convig: I think you’re right. We should definitely know by tomorrow. At least, I’d be very surprised if they dragged this out another week considering the impending fall deadline. @Dem1234: Thanks for the link to OFA. I am definitely looking at other options in case I don’t get this and I’d love to do that sometime :)

got a call from a restricted number this morning. my heart was pounding. “hi this is ______ from the white house office of _____” turns out it was for a office not involved in the WH Internship Program that I had applied to separately, and they were just letting me know that they were missing part of my application package. darn…i guess that’s the closest i’ll be getting to an acceptance call from the white house… :(

close of business on Thursday…

adnap888 could you msg me what other intern that was? not the link just the name of it, i think we applied to the same one :)

liberal, not sure what you’re referring to. Do you mean the OFA fellowship?

No vitals by now = rejection?

Sigh, probably AB :[ I’m in the same boat.
