“Conditional” because you still have to clear security measures

haha ya it’s legit…just wanted to let people know because i have been following the thread and saw where some of the other students who claimed they were conditionally accepted had their posts deleted (wondering myself what was real/fake)…therefore, all I know is the acceptance process has started, though it does seem as if it is on a rolling basis and there is still time to go (like i said, my friend had the interview early in the process)

and it is called a conditional acceptance (i guess that was even how it was worded in the email) for the reason posted above, my friend told me the email stated that he/she would need to clear a background check and drug test before formally accepted

Still nothing here…

My daughter got her conditional acceptance letter (via email) on Monday for a summer White House Internship. She was out on the west coast on spring break when she received the email. Saying she was ecstatic is an understatement.

Congratulations to your daughter, Prof100!

just wanted to post a (final) update and let those of you who are still checking this know that i finally got a reject email today. good luck to everyone!

Alas, rejected as well. Vitals, but no interview. Oh well, I re-applied for fall so I’ll hope for the best for that. Good luck to all and congrats to those accepted.

i second kat1900 – also got reject email today –

good job to those who get it and for those who don’t, i’ll say it again:

let’s resolve together not to be discouraged and to remember that the White House is a political organization that engages in a very non-transparent process. that alone should tell you how much of a crap-shoot this ultimately is.

We should regard this as an opportunity to challenge ourselves to find something better to do, something more enriching, something more rewarding. I believe those of us who didn’t get good news can always forge a better path for ourselves than to let some political appointees, who are probably not much older or more educated than ourselves, decide what’s best for us.

If it’s any consolation, I have a friend in law school who was an intern in Leg Affairs, and he found the experience to be eye-opening, but also a lot of menial, and frankly meaningless, office work (I think the politically correct term is “administrative” tasks). The one thing he got to do was compose one memo about Sotomayor, I think. But that was it. The rest was, to put it nicely, admin work. Now, if the possibility of admin work makes you feel like you’re engaging in real public service, good for you. For the rest of us, if you haven’t already done so, let’s get out there and find something better to do !

Rejection email for my daughter today, too (vitals, no interview). She has applied a lot of other places, though, and had a very promising interview with one of the amazing two Senators from our state last week (and they called her references, one of the references told me). So something will come through. Good luck to everyone one, and congratulations to those who were accepted!

Vitals, interview, rejected.

Rejected! Well, the wait was worth it. I learned what I need to do to improve my application for next summer. I won’t be applying for Fall or Spring because I refuse to miss a semester of school! Well, until next summer ladies and gentleman, thanks for making the wait slightly more bearable. Wish you all the best.

Still nothing here.

i had a second interview today for a different office but still no decision

vitals, no interview, rejected. thanks to everyone (except the ■■■■■■!) on this forum for making the wait a little more bearable. good luck on future endeavors!

REJECTED! Better luck next time. I do have a while to apply, being that I’m only 17 years old. Although I feel as though I have an impressive resume and great references…vitals- no interview- rejected!! Good Luck Everyone Else!!!

Vitals, interview, rejected. On to the next one!

Still no word…vitals and still processing e-mail…but no interview. Who else is still waiting? It seems like yesterday was the big cut day

Processing email and vitals form, but no rejection letter or interview though…

Vitals, interview, still-processing email, still waiting

I have a feeling Monday will bring more big cuts. Not trying to be negative.
