Wow,that was fast!
Haha,I have class now but I’ll be joining the FB group…
right now!
When I get back,I hope all of you have joined it.
For those that haven’t recieved an email yet…YOU STILL HAVE HOPE!
So don’t lose it :)

ok well perhaps it was blind in that regard but when your resume lists where you’ve worked and the people reading it have been told about “that kid” or “his son” who works at wherever it isnt too hard ha. or they just ran the SS#.

i still havent gotten an email. bizarre.

agreed…lol…hope you still get the internship scanman…as for me, i’ll prob be at the SEC

Maybe they sent out rejections first and acceptances will be later?

by the way, i wonder if the fact that I had worked for a certain golden-haired former Obama opponent had to do anything with the ding

obsessed: I certainly hope not, but I’ve been wrong many times. I would expect more. At this point I don’t know what the White House was looking for in an applicant.

rejected

good luck to anyone who hasn’t heard back yet!

and here’s to me finding something else to do this summer

If anyone knows of affordable ($600 and below) housing for the summer… please let me know. I’ll be interning downtown and would like to stay somewhere safe. If you know of anyone/place or have a place yourself… I would be very very very appreciative! I can give references etc. Sigh…

Here’s to making plan B work. :p

I don’t know if I should be expecting an email either way since I never received an email from them.

Have you heard back scanman?

KaySera- I might be in DC for the summer even though I didn’t get the internship, as well as a few other people on here. I say we create our own community of rejected applicants, lol.

kt710 - YES. lol

I live in DC and there isn’t anything in the city for less than $600 and if you do find something its probably not safe.

I would aim for the suburbs or up your budget to $700. Let me know if you need advice on places

koalasaurus: Ugh… but thanks for the realistic info. haha I had a feeling that’s what it would be. Oh, well I tried.

Are there any particular suburbs that you would suggest? I will not have a car with me, either.

Rejected…Time to look for more internships on the federal level(congress) or at the city level haha. Good luck to everyone

Aye. I’m guessing it’s about WHO YOU know and nothing else. I’m sure most of us had excellent credentials. Oh well…

I just wanted to let everyone know that I got selected for this summer! I really appreciate all the support y’all have given me and I hope to keep in touch through facebook! :)

Congrats presjam. Could you tell us all what the acceptance email said please?

denied! but that’s ok, i’ll look for something closer to home that will actually pay money maybe =)

CONGRATS PRESJAM03!! I’m glad somebody from this thread got accepted! I’m sure it’ll be an awesome experience and you’ll have to keep us updated as to what you’ll be doing throughout the summer!!

Congrats my friend. Have fun for the both of us! :-)

In retrospect i think it was foolish of my to apply for Scheduling & Advance, even though i have work experience with the obama advance team, because of my age. Since i am only 19 and will be a freshman in college…applying for a position where you always travel and have to be quite independent maybe wasn’t so smart now that i think of it.

oh well, it could have also been because my application wasn’t as good :P

Everyone who didn’t make it, on to Plan B i guess!

I say if you want to live outside the city w/o a car the best places are bethesda, silver spring (both in MD) and Roslyn/ Crystal City (in VA).
