White House Internship

my same question! :)

the one intern about 2 pages ahead of this said that they spend the first few weeks weeding people out, so I feel like they would not waste their time sending this and REWEEDING through everything if you didn’t make it past the first round? I could be wrong…

I was just going to ask, if other people got the vitals email? I did not get it the last time I applied and I did not get accepted either. I was wondering of the people that got accepted for Fall 2010 did they get a vitals questionnaire?

I guess this means interviews should be coming next week?

Judging by past conversations on this forum, it seems as though this email is a step in the right direction. I can’t say this factually because I’m simply going off of what I’ve read on here, but from previous years/semesters this seems to be a good sign (so far at least).

And I agree caramel08girl, I don’t think that they would bother sending this email if we were out of the running.

YAAAAY!
MBA, yes we received the vitals email!
& MBA’s comment about not getting a vitals and not getting accepted also helps us as well!

waaaahooo!
so according to nastrodamus’ (sp?) post, interviews should probably be coming next week, the vitals might be being forwarded to our department of interest??..

Since acceptances start coming nov. 15, I would assume that interviews would be next week!

Hey just a heads up.
My friend who did an internship there last year said that it means we have made it to the next round. After that comes general white house internship interviews. then if they like you they pass your resume onto the offices that you chose that you want to work in.

Anyone who’s done this before or knows someone who did: do they call you to schedule an interview, or do they just call you randomly when they want to interview you? Is there any forewarning?

yeah, that is the same question I have…I have a feeling it is random?

Hi everyone! I hope it’s not random! Has anyone who has applied before or who has done the internship know what types of questions they ask in the interview?

I’ve received a Vitals email and just recently a confirmation email that they’ve received my completed form. Does anyone know when interviews begin?

they start sending out notifications november 15, so pretty soon!

Has anyone received an email regarding interviews or know how long after receiving the vitals email we will be contacted about an interview?

I don’t, but from previous CC discussions and the upcoming notification I’d have to imagine they’ll begin soon. I guess now we just have to keep each other posted!

yeah, my friend told me his was random.
He got it in the afternoon between 3-4pm while he was in physics lab!

KEEP YOUR PHONE ON YOU (if you put down your cell)! AND IF IT IS A 202 AREA CODE IT IS THEM!

I wonder what would happen if you miss the call in that case?

I too received the Vitals email and an email confirming receipt of my details.

I am waiting eagerly for their call/interview. I wonder whether they do select candidates sometimes without interviewing them!

Does anyone know how many vitals emails they send? There hasn’t been anyone so far on here that hasn’t gotten one, but at the same time those of us who are on here are clearly proactive (for lack of a better word?) so I’m not really sure what this all means. I’m just over thinking while waiting…

It is unlikely they will send out the vitals document to everyone. My guess is that they would probably send it out to about 200 people and select 100 people out of that pool. The balance they would keep it in their waitlist incase anyone drops off or do not pass the clearance/random drug test.
