Omg. Then it seems some of the applicants are receiving and some aren’t ■■■ is going on!
I received the email too and I hope this is on a positive side, maybe? Ooff, I really want to to be future Whittie🤞
Hi. just wanted to check in…Have you received the email stating decisions will be released on March 3 yet?
International student
I haven’t received any emails since I last talked with them for the fee waiver. I’m planning on checking the portal directly tomorrow morning, and then calling to thank them if I get accepted, and calling to ask them what I lacked as an applicant if I didn’t make the cut
It’s showing Decided on my portal. What about you guys?
Yep. “Decided”
Didn’t get in.
Congrats to all those who did!

D was accepted, but it’s nowhere near affordable so it’s probably off the table.
Rejected
What bout you?
My son was accepted!
Asking for personal survey purposes.
Any internationals needing a large sum of aid that were accepted?
My DD accepted. Stats 4.0 uw/4.4 w. 1520 SAT one seating. Many ECs, strong essay and excellent LOR. Not enough merit though, so maybe out of the running. We might try and appeal after we tour in person.
How much merit did she receive? Mine got $25k plus a little need based, but we’d still have to pay well over half our AGI to attend. Not going to happen.
$25,000 is the largest standard merit award at Whitman.
The Garrett-Sherwood Scholarship is offered to only the top 1% of applicants (about 50), then there are a few other talent awards:
My D22 got $17000/yr merit and $10000/yr music. We’re happy with that–it’s more than we expected–but it’s still much less than she was offered by University of Puget Sound and Willamette. She’s also a NMF so that might be another $2000/yr at Whitman. We’ll visit all three again this spring to help with the decision.
Whitman is better academically but I think UPS might have a better orchestra and band, so that might help her choose too. My daughter won’t be a music major but music is important to her and she wants to continue playing in high-level ensembles.
(whoops–that reply was supposed to be to @skydivemom)
We got $12k/yr. and $10k/yr. music scholarship. We had hoped for more.
If D loves the school we hope to appeal for more.
Right now UPS and Willamette gave us much more and that brings it down to a price we are able to justify and afford. We will tour them all during spring break and go from there.
@Mountain22 and @teb Can I ask how much merit your students received at Willamette? My D didn’t apply there, but her younger sister is right behind her and she may be interested (especially if the price is right).
Last year someone on CC appealed with stats like your DD and were awarded quite a bit more. So if she really wants to attend, definitely appeal.
