Whitman vs. Kenyon

So May first is almost upon us, and I have yet to pick a college. Right now my two finalists are Whitman and Kenyon, and I am very conflicted between the two. I have visited both of the colleges, and I really like both campuses. While I do like the town that Whitman is in more, I do not mind the uber rural setting of Kenyon. Right now I am intending to major in political science, and perhaps go to law school. Price would be about the same from both schools with the aid both schools gave me. I live in California, so distance is an issue for me (is Kenyon worth going to school a 5 hour plane flight away). I would greatly appreciate anyone’s insight on both colleges’ social culture, academic quality, access to opportunities/career services (internships, fellowships, alumni network), life/activities outside of class. Also if possible can anyone share their view on the impact of the different levels of prestige of Whitman and Kenyon. As in do you think the rankings of them truly matter in academic experience, post-grad success, and entrance into law school/grad school? I would truly appreciate any insight as of right now I am so torn.

Both are highly respected. Kenyon is a bit stronger for humanities but both are excellent. You can’t really make a bad choice.

As a law professor who has been involved in admissions decisions, I can assure you, there is no difference in terms of law school admissions if a student went to Whitman or Kenyon undergrad.
