Who agrees with me?

I've noticed that the people who do well in school end up getting okayish scores on the SAT, while the stoners that get C's and D's end up with outstanding scores. However, on the ACT (which I've never taken), the kids that get A's do well, and the stoners get around 23. Is this normal? Provide your thoughts.

I rarely see that correlation

^That.

UDUBHUSKIES, are you from the midwest/area where everyone always takes the ACT?

I’ve lived in Seattle and currently, MPLS, so yes, but when I was in Seattle, I noticed this.

Well, if everyone takes the ACT in your area, then taking the SAT is usually for kids applying out east/seeing if the test makes them look better. I know there are a lot fewer kids taking the SAT where I’m from. There are smart kids who do drugs, and those are the ones that might also take the SAT and do well. But I think if all the stoners took the SAT, you’d see similarly low scores.

I think this is just perception. While the SAT doesn’t measure learned knowledge, a total lack of association like that on a large scale wouldn’t happen.
