oh hahaha ok well i've done the same, but it's not like anyone here in Cali knows the difference. i'm just curious for you guys on the east coast, where emory is more known than out here.

lol...I swear people don't know Emory outside of the South for some reason ..

when i tell them in ct, most just smile and nod there head because they have no idea

Hah, I'm from NY & almost none of my friends up there know where it is..

what happens if youre rejected ed decision?

You can apply to Oxford still if you'd like to still go to Emory..

for those who made it into oxford, where are you from? I am from Boston :). I'm wondering if there is easy commute to oxford from downtown?

I was accepted =]
I'm from Tennessee, so it's not too far away, about 6 hours

im from CT

accepted, but don't want to attend. =/

gleung, if you're referring to downtown Atlanta (which I assume you are), there are shuttles that run from Oxford to the main campus (Emory) sevveral times throughout the day. When you get to the main campus, there are many more shuttles that run to various malls, including one located in downtown.

Accepted yesterday.

From Alabama; about 3 hours away.

rose303, out of curiosity why don't you want to attend?

I'm applying to Oxford and I'm from KS. Just out of curiosity, why are Oxford's stats lower than Emory's? And what is the primary reason you guys are applying or like Oxford instead of Emory?

whats up? I'm a sophomore at oxford. The stats are lower because they accept people with potential, and give them the chance to do well and then go to emory. You need a 2.0 for the college, 3.4 for business school and 3.0 for nursing. Those are estimates, excluding the college, and the others are pretty reasonable averages. Oxford will be fun for you if you find the right people. I have had an awesome time here, and there are def. people who party. Don't worry about that-- there was about 30 drunk people outside my room last night, but that's because finals are extremely hard for some classes. BTW- if pre-med, be ready to have no social life. I'm pre-nursing and its pretty easy, but anatomy and physiology is sort of killing me right now. Let me know if you all have any questions. My name is Pete and I'm from Maine...

Listen, there is def. a party scene here if you want it. No big parties, but dorms are sufficient, and there's usually something going on. There are a lot of crazy partiers here, and a lot of kids who study all day. At any school, you make your education based off your decisions. I have barely studied this whole time at oxford and I have above a 3.0 but you have to be smart about cramming. You'll get the hang of it. Oxford is full of procrastinators, but at the same time there are a lot of really intelligent crazy smart people as well. You'll find your niche.

question: is it hard to get a 3.5?

and can frosh drive there, and is there enough parking and stuff b/c it looked kinda small when i went

do alot of people go to the main campus for parties and stuff like that or do ppl mostly stay on oxford campus...also, do alot of people who live in georgia go home on the weekends?

It is very hard to get a 3.5. The average graduate of oxford has about a 2.7, but if you work really hard a 3.5 is very possible. Just takes dedication and no slacking or procrastination. A lot of people go home for the weekend, but that's the instate kids. All my best friends are from out of state, and the campus is dead, but its great. Its almost like having a campus to yourself, which gets rid of distraction, and it actually quite nice.

how many times per week do you travel to the main campus if all...? thanks alot btw, this is great information
