<p>If I apply to a certain university, is my application compared with only those who are applying to the same specific undergraduate school (ex. school of engineering) or is my application compared with those of the entire university applicant pool?</p>

<p>this is a general thing. if it depends on school, refer to BU, Northwestern, Syracuse, NYU, Wesleyan, and UPenn</p>

<p>Wesleyan is an undergrad-focused liberal arts college, unlike the rest of the schools on your list. It does not have its student body divided into schools. Then again, Wesleyan is much smaller than the rest of the schools on your list…</p>
