what happened this year?! Every other year this major seemed to have above 50 percent acceptance rate!? 18 percent this year, and it was not an impacted major! Well.. there goes my appeal.

I saw that… I was shocked!

Applying as Anthropology B.S. is honestly a complete and utter mistake. You should apply as Anthropology B.A. First day of your first quarter, you go to Ann Walters’s office (Shes the head of the undergraduate Anthropology department) and tell her you want to switch from B.A. to B.S… She will literally complete this task in under a minute. Saves you the headache of risking higher competition. I did it, it works perfectly fine.

yeah i wish i knew that. anthro bs had never been this competitive though! I am thinking, since the average applied gpa was 3.1, ucla got fed up with the lack of science courses and gpa and just chose those who had the majority done with competitive gpa. idk. thats the only thing giving me hope.

Wow I was surprised to see that. I see my major(MechEng) was the MOST competitive as well(highest applied GPA…2nd lowest accept rate). dayum.
ps. that is wrt HSSEAS

wow! you are one of “them.” My friend is Mechanical Eng & helps me any math / chemistry problems I have… Good for you SFwarrior! I am super impressed!! That is a REAL major…

every major is real. some are just umm…more difficult i suppose.

Word, playa. Word.
