I heard MIT has a quota on Canadians (5 ppl), I want to see who is applying this year. Man, this is gonna be tough competition. Good luck everyone.

I don't think MIT has a quota specifically on Canadians. I believe they do have an international student quota but not for any specific region. They do try to spread out their accepted students though, so that may count for something.

Anyways, I'm not Canadian, but good luck still.

If you're interested, you can see the geographical breakdown of MIT students for 2005-2006 here. Although not large, the number of Canadian undergrads is currently second only to the number of Koreans.

A quota of 5 is not that much, considering Canada is so close. I'm sure they accept more qualified people than 5, so a quota shouldn't be an issue.

I dont know about the quota thing but if you want to know, one of my friends at school (UWC system) is aming for MIT this year too. And I must say, he is REALLY GOOD!
He applied ED to Princeton though but the mail hasn't arrived yet and he refused to send emai/phone them so basically he didnt know yet. If he gets in, there's nothing to talk about. But if not, he'll be one of your REALLY HEAVY competitors...

They do have a quota (the only one in MIT admissions, in fact) regarding international students. They read by country, but don't have quotas per country.
