Who are the Georgia Tech new president candidates

Hi:

Does anyone know who the potential candidate are for the office of president for Georgia Tech?

"Rumor" on a blog about the situation regarding layoffs at RPI is that the current RPI president, Shirley Ann Jackson is a potential selection among others for the position as Georgia Techs next president. Granted this is rumor and this has to be taken as such, but as the saying goes where there is smoke there is fire.

Considering the controversy over the layoffs at RPI, it would be helpful to know if she is a possible choice.

Although RPI is private and Georgia Tech is public and is governed differently, the position of President is important to the overall direction of a university.

Any insight/comments would be helpful.

Bumping this old thread.

The pick actually turns out to have recent (but not too recent) ties to RPI, so there was some veracity in the rumor.

We just got an e-mail about it this morning, but a candidate is the chancellor of CU-Boulder. I’m not exactly sure if he is the final pick, but I don’t see why only one person would be announced at this point if that was not the case.
