who are ur friends?

Since most of the CCers on here are overachievers, I was just wondering, do you guys hang out with friends who are of the same intelligence level as you are or do you hang out with less intelligent or more intelligent people? And I'm talking about grades and test scores wise.

Well I'm not exactly a typical overachiever, but within my circle of friends there is a pretty large range of achievment. Some of my friends are crazy overachievers with great test scores and grades, but some of them are more average.

All my friends have the exact same standardized test scores and GPA as I do, or higher. I have a special computer program that I use to update test scores to the second, and if they deviate more than .0001 from my standards, they are immediately eliminated from my friend roster through a cordial automatic email.

No hard feelings, of course.

Personally, I decided against sharing grades/scores with my close friends. I didn't like the way it began to feel as though our ritualistic lunchtime discussions of classes were part of some unspoken competition.

But really, I don't need their SAT scores to know that my friends are intelligent. People with corresponding mindsets naturally tend to stick together. My friends and I have similar class schedules, maturity levels, etc. We each have individual passions outside of class that we're dedicated enough to pursue to an advanced degree. Some of us are more "college-oriented", while a few are seriously considering taking off for Europe after graduation and never coming back.

most of my friends are in the "smart" classes like me, but i have some friends outside of that (like ones i used to go to school with)

Most of my friends aren't going to graduate high school. I hang out with very artsy people who aren't book smart but that doesn't mean they're dumb.

most are stupid or crackheads. 2 or 3 are smart, but not overachievers as much as CCers. Most are in Water Polo (which demands all of our attention).

Got tons of diff freinds. Smart and overachivers like me. Average intelligence frieends. Obssesed with sports.

i don't think that sat scores and gpa are any measure of intellligence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have tons of friends who are amazingly smart but they don't always do that great in school or have amazing test scores or anything like that

^I completely agree. I have so many friends that are INCREDIBLY intelligent.

There's a HUGE difference between getting good grades and being intelligent.

Anyways. There's a very large range of achievement (much better word for what you're asking) among my friends. I have friends everywhere from those who'll be lucky to graduate to those who are in the running for Val/Sal.

I just hang out with people who share the same interests as me, though most of my friends are ranked 1-10 out of 1430.

I'm friends with people who are about as smart or a little smarter than me. I do have some outliers though. :)

I hang out with people who are weird.

Most of my friends are dumb, when I hang out w/ them I dont really talk anything school-related since I'd make them super-jealous of me

most of my friends have around the same scores as me. of course there r those who r just beyond intelligent. but we dont compare how intelligent we are against each other.

One of my best friends just came back to high school as a supersenior. Other than that, most are somewhere close to me. Although a lot of my friends are older...

My friends are smart. They're not book smart completely though. Some of them are in the advanced classes with me, but then some of them aren't. A lot of them are over achievers, but with Sports or other ECs. I don't judge them, I love hanging out with them and they know I don't care and if they need help, they'll ask me too..

Then again, I also hang out with our future Val. So I don't make friends based on intelligence, I make friends with people and their personalities.

yeah, the reason I posted this question was because I wanted to see how other kids like me are. Like I'm a huge overachiever but most of my close friends are not. and some people are wondering why I hang out with those kids. Cause at our school, people tend to stick with people who are on common grounds as far as grades go. But I like my friends because they are loyal and good people, who cares how high their grades are.

Scorpio- I agree! If I based friends on intelligence I'd feel just as superficial as people who based it on clothing labels or something. Not that either way is wrong to that group of people, I just would feel odd about it.

Lol, i once told my friend i was taking chemistry honors, he said," Wow, Smart Ass'' I told my other friend who is high ranked, he said,''ok..''

Sigh.
