Who are WE? Intl student in US high schools

What are our chances? or my chances?
I'm a Chinese student -international,- and I am going to US top boarding schools.
I've heard that intl applicants are in different pools from domestic students, and applicants from countries that have a lot of applicants to US colleges, like CHINA, will have lower chances.

So, when I apply for college, will I be placed in the same pool with US domestics or intl students?

Thank you!

Interntionals.

You cannot predict chances just like that anyway. The top schools at least, are completely arbitary in the sense that you cannot just point to one particular thing about an applicant and say that it was the one factor that would get you an admit offer.

well, I'm a Canadian citizen living in the US.

I guess I would be international too. I think it depends on which colleges you apply to, and the top schools would probably not care AS MUCH about this stuff as other schools. I don't know. I'm hoping that it will work in my favor, but I doubt it.

you'll definitely be in the internationals pool, unless you get a green card before applying.

i'm currently a senior w/ this problem, and it held a lot back in terms of college choices, especially if you're in desperate need of aid. Only very few schools are need-blind for internationals, and few schools have limited aid to internationals. Keep that in mind as you start on your college search.

Yeah i'm in the same situation as nuitsanstoiles. I think for HYP (exclusively) we're counted as domestic. It's not so great with other schools.

TS already "going to US top boarding schools."
why worry chances? I am so confuse..

I would think "going" means accepted and leaving for it.
Not as going as in going to apply.. ^^;

Some colleges are need-blind for Canadians but not other internationals!

i think TS means going to apply for it, not going to.

I think he means boarding schools in the level of high school. I am not sure though

Yeah, boarding school is high school level ones. =]
