I completely agree with you, Rachel_Dawes.

It seems to me it's just the "hip" or "in" thing right now to be an Obama supporter. Urban Outifitters is stocked with Obama Change shirts, celebrities seem to overwhelmingly support him, and he presents himself much better than McCain.

I'm voting for McCain.

Just for anyone who thinks BO will end the war:
The time line is ONLY for Iraq
He will recommit troops to Iraq after the withdraw if necessary
BO wants to militarily strike Pakistan
Doesn't sound like peace to me.

To gooPV:
Bob Barr's voting record and history show he does not support the true libertarian platform. Ron Paul refused to endorse him.

McCain. Don't agree with BO's wealth re-distribution aim, and don't want to see the Chicago political machine and BO's extreme-left groups exploiting our country.

To everyone voting McCain: You come from a wealthy family, and both of your parents are staunch Republicans. This is the actual reason you favor McCain; it's not because of McCain's policies.

Moving on, I'm voting for Obama, because as a college student, it better suits MY interests directly.

Raising the minimum wage - directly benefits me.

Cutting taxes for the working class - directly benefits me.

Providing national health care - directly benefits me.

I couldn't give two ****s if the government decides to rob some corporate CEOs or the wealthy elite of this country for my benefit.

As of right now according to that site, Obama has a 95.1% of winning the general election. God bless America.

You McCain supporters sound like the people who voted for President Bush - or at least your parents probably did. Well done. clap clap.

I'll vote for Mcbama

i'm taking ancient roman history right now. there are many similarities to our government and theirs. no coincidence of course. however one thing i'm reading about is how the senatorial class (aristocrats) were the ones who paid most of the taxes for the empire. back then it was a given that they would do that because they were wealthy, and had the roles of being public servants and living good comfortable lives for the most part. whereas in today's world, the attitude is quite different. people who make it to the top, forget they were a bunch of nobodies at some point who needed help a long the way to get to where they are now (unless they inherited the wealth). if people weren't so greedy in today's world we wouldn't be in today's mess (the mess i'm referring to is the one created by the dumb lendees/lenders who created these bad loans, and government who encouraged the creation of bad loans)

i understand people want to keep their hard earnings. but what i don't understand why they feel they should get more taxes reduced when they are already living a comfortable live? i'd gladly love to be taxed more because that would mean under Obama's plan that I would be making more than $250,000 a year. why so many people feel that the rich should get richer while the poor get poorer is beyond me. by no means do i condone laziness. but people who take on those low paying jobs most american's don't want to take on, should not be paying the same taxes that the upper class is paying. and more importantly the top 5% should not be paying less taxes in hopes that the extra money they earn will trickle down or create more jobs. we've all seen how that works. i for one would like to see what happens when that extra money is redistributed among the lower- to middle-class to see how their spending creates new small businesses and continues to support the big corporations. one thing we know for sure is that americans don't save money. so it'll get spent in many more places now by many more people (the 95%), rather than just the top 5%. under mccain's plan, the richer you are, the amount of money you save will be far more than those who make less.

that's why i'll cast a vote for obama this election. the lesser of both evils as is always the case in elections.

by the way, if this country becomes more of a socialist country, just remember, it already got started in this presidency; the next president won't be the one to have started the socialism you guys speak of.

I'm not voting for McBush

Yea!!! Hopefully if we get attacked again, like in 1993 when the WTC was bombed, we will just fire some cruise missiles, that will show them! Or we can send in 50 troops to Somalia, and then pull out as soon as something bad happens! Or in 1998 when our embassies are attacked, we can once again fire cruise missiles! Or when our navy ships get attacked off the coast of Yemen, we can do nothing!

So, you are voting based on what will help you. That is fine. Other people wish to vote on what they think is RIGHT. Not everyone believes that the people who make millions of dollars a year should have their money taken away and given to people who hang out on the street with 7 kids and no job.

Two can play this game. Ready? You Obama supporters sound like the people who voted for Bill Clinton twice, while he sat and watched as our country was repeatedly attacked (1993, 1998, 2000). While he lied under oath and disrespected the highest office in the country. While he encouraged Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to make irresponsible loans, that have directly landed us in the biggest economic mess in a long time.

You are totally misrepresenting what Obama is doing. He is evening out the playing field, as the rich people can sustain the economy better. He isnt giving money to anyone, just letting them keep more. I do however believe that he is taxing the rich WAY too much. People making over 600k are getting taxed nearly a fifth of that.

I'm leaning towards Obama, but I really hate this whole Obama bandwagon thing - vote from your own decisions and priorities, not on trying to fit in.

Jeez, go etch a Obama on your iPods or something. >.>

I've got a better plan. Let's invade a random sovereign country because their leader made a yo momma joke against us, collapse both of our economies, and wage a war of attrition while pouring billions of dollars down the drain. Now THATS how you settle a ****ing contest.

There's no way we can respond to three direct attacks with wars. Heck, our military is overstretched just by fighting two wars. Bill wasn't stupid, he made reasonable responses, although they were not perfect. In fact, nobody is perfect, especially politicians, but I think Bill Clinton helped the country more than he hurt it.

I don't think criticizing Bill Clinton for lies is legit- other presidents have told much much more detrimental lies. Look at Bush's "WMDs", Reagan's contra scandal, etc. In fact, he wasn't the first president to have sex scandals either.

The loan situation is not Bill Clinton's fault- he did the best he could 10 years ago. The economic conditions sure as heck were different 10 years ago- heck, economics can change drastically in years, months even. The thing is, if a lot of people knew about the housing bubble crisis, they would have done something. The fact is, a lot of times economic problems are very hard to predict.

You are voting for Obama because he will use the government to seal from other people to give to you. You don't want to get a job that pays better, you want to government to force your employer to pay you more. You don't want to pay your share of taxes, you want the rich to pay for a disproportionate amount of the government. You don't want to pay for your own health care, you want the government to take someone else's money and buy you health care.

Obama plays right into the populist message of "us vs. them." That the rich must have done something wrong to become rich, and the rest of us have a right to "spread the wealth around" (Obama's words, not mine). Here is my advice to you and to many Americans who and are voting for Obama to make life more "fair": Stop feeling victimized and realize that only you have the choice to improve your life.
