Who at CC is applying to Columbia?

<p>Can someone rate me?
I’m US permanent resident. I took O-A levels from my country of citizenship. I have 8 A’s and 1 B in O level and 3A’s in A level. My SAT1 : 2100, SAT2 : phy+maths(2)+chem = 2350.

  • National award in Bangladesh Physics Olympiad
    *Divisional award in Bangladesh Informatics Olympiad.
    *Divisional Champion of School Quiz Championship.
  • Served as a teacher in an autism centre.
    *Captain of a divisional football team.
  • Daily Star Award (students with good results in O-A levels receive this award in bd)
    *Worked as Lab assistant in a renowned university during summer’13
    *Among top 5 in my class(no ranking)
    My preferred major is Engineering. I’m from a extremely low-income family.</p>

<p>Has everyone been contacted for their interview? I’m still waiting and I’m super worried that I don’t stand a chance/won’t be called for an interview</p>

<p>has anyone been asked by Columbia to submit 1st quarter grades? i heard sometimes they call and ask for them… i have 2 Bs this quarter which makes for a really bad downward trend</p>

<p>Sorry, this is a stupid question, but I just want to make sure I’m doing this right. When it says “list” favorite books, movies, entertainment etc., they mean just list, right? Are they looking for an explanation?</p>

<p>I’m applying ED and can’t believe decisions come out tomorrow! I know I’m not getting in, my ACT is way too low to overlook, but I’m still scared I might breakdown. Honestly, I hope everyone on here gets in, best of luck!</p>

<p>I’m an international applicant and am looking to apply to one of the ivies. I was given a reality check when I was rejected by cornell after applying ED. Please tell me if i should take a chance to get into any of the ivies, and my first choice Columbia.
Objective:
SAT I (breakdown): 2050 (740 CR 660 M 650 W) (single sitting where I messed up maths)
ACT: Didn’t take
SAT II: 800 Math II, 770 Physics
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable):Top 5 percentile</p>

<p>Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): Not much to show, but won field hockey tournaments as captain of the team.</p>

<p>Subjective:
Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Captain of School field hockey team for past 4 years, instrumental music and performances in school events, part of science clubs and took part in quiz competitions.
Job/Work Experience: Couple of Internships
Volunteer/Community service:Unpaid Tutoring to children. Volunteering in several organizations that work for children’s welfare.
Summer Activities: Internships and Space Academy(this year) </p>

<p>I submitted my application december 20th and haven’t gotten a confirmation email. Should I call them?</p>

<p>Submitted 1/2 and no confirmation. I don’t think it’s a big deal, but going to call them if I don’t get it in a week.</p>
