I read the thread about all the people that didn't do an interview, but no one actually said that they participated in one.

For someone like me who doesn't quite have the grades to be sure of acceptance, I have a feeling that the interview may be crucial. I got an email offering one two weeks from now, and I hope that it will work out so I can take one.

If any of you actually did the off-campus interview, how was it? Did you dress up or wear the clothes that you would wear to school any day of the year? Were the questions just basic "Why GWU" type questions?

I did an off-campus interview w/ an admissions officer. I wore a nice skirt and a polo and heels. The guy was very nice and fairly informal. He asked me general questions at first and then more specific. I brought him my resume and my transcript. A couple questions that I wasn't prepared for were "what would your best friend tell me about you" and "why did you want an interview." The rest were pretty standard. I would for sure do it, though. I think it helped me a lot.

I had an off-campus interview with an alumni rep - it was awesome and I think it sealed the deal. I was business casual (oxford shirt, dress pants, but no tie) and brought my resume. The interview, as 1and1 said, started as a general survey of my activities and such and then became more specific to my personal qualities, etc. Ultimately, it was a great experience - it lasted 90 minutes, but it was well worth it. Do it if you have the chance.

My interview went very well, and the man was really really nice and seemed to like me as well, but he also seemed to subtly suggest that I probably won't get in. As much as I'd LOVE to go to GWU, I guess that's just the way things go.

It was a worthwhile experience though. The talk I had with him was great.
