<p>I applied regular. Harvard deferred me early action. I'm trying to be realistic and realize that if I didnt get into Harvard (the place my school has the best success with among the top few), YP are out too. Stanford is looking like my best hope now.</p>
<p>I'm still writing the essay - are we allowed to use 10pt font?!</p>
<p>Panther, I wish you best of luck at Stanford but don't put it on any lower pedestal than HYP. Stanford, in my opinion, is the best university in the nation, and certainly has as rigorous an admissions process as HYP. Of course, I may be biased (admitted ea).
That being said, I'm sure you'll get it...nearly half of those who posted on this board got in, of course the actual admit rate is about 20%. People on CC are just uber-smart. Good luck!</p>

<p>Good luck RDers. By the way, Harvard seems to defer a ridiculous amount. 75% of all applicants this year... It seems almost not worth having Early Action to begin with if they're just going to do that.</p>

<p>I got the courage to submit mine Monday night. I worked on that application for three months, and I'm going to be devastated if I don't get in, but will live. Might transfer. I was there for three weeks this past summer for a creative writing program, and I just fell in love. I'm throwing away my dreams of going back east for Stanford. But I have no way of guessing. Right now I'm optimistic while remaining realistic: I can picture the rejection letter and I can picture the acceptance packet and just going ****ing ballistic. God I want this so bad, but I'm worrrying about my SAT score (Friday...). PLEASE DON'T LET ME BE DEFINED BY A NUMBER! Plus, Stanford has not been friendly to my school, but I'm trying not to think of it in that context.</p>
<p>Anyways, before I go off: I love Stanford. Good luck to you guys. If you've never been there, it's devastatingly beautiful, and the people are so awesome. GOOD LUCK!</p>
