Well, I just submitted my K-Zoo application!!! Anyone else out there applying early action (deadline: Dec. 1)? I'm excited to apply early action because, even though KZoo is not my first choice school, at least I'll have a decision by 12/15 :) So, who else is applying????

Just thought I'd give you a little feedback since my S. is a freshman currently at K College. He loves it! Depending on your stats, they're generous with merit scholarships. The award letter generally arrives about two weeks after the acceptance letter. What other schools are you applying to?

Thanks for that info - I have several friends there now who love it too :) I am also applying to UofM and MSU. I'm an Ann Arborite and I will probably go to the UofM if I get in (if so, I'll be the third generation to attend). That being said, I am also looking pretty seriously at K College because of (among so many reasons) the outstanding study abroad programs and the small-school environment. Those merit scholarships are a pretty good incentive too! Anyways, I've finished applying to all my schools so now I'll have to just wait and see!

Well, as you probably could tell from my SN, you certainly can't go wrong with Michigan either! Now, about that MSU app.....lol. ;) Best of luck to you!

Chances are that I too will be applying. :)

^Will you be submitting your app before the EA1 deadline of Dec. 1st? If so, your decision letter will be mailed on Dec. 20th. They accept the common app and the supplement form is quick and easy (at least it was last year). Good luck!

Probably not. You see, I applied ED1 at another school and want to see what happens with that before I submit any other apps. (So we don't have to spend the money if the app is going to be pulled...).

If the other school doesn't work out, I'll definately be applying to K-Zoo in the second EA period. It's not my first choice (obviously), but it's very, very high on my list!

And thanks!

My son has applied EA to Kalamazoo and is hoping to hear something soon.

My son received a letter from K'zoo yesterday indicating that his application was complete and that "as was customary" (or some language like that) the Dean of Admissions would be sending notice of the result of his application on December 20. I was surprised that they provided a date certain for when the admissions letter would be sent.

As I understand it, Kalamazoo follows the admission decision with any merit aid award a few weeks later.

Edit: Of course I just noticed that GoBlueAlum mentioned the December 20 date just a few posts above this one. D'oh!

I applied to Kzoo EA and haven't received anything like that! I sent it in november 27, and saw they downloaded it from the commo app on the 29th.

Should I be worried that I didn't get a letter like that???

^I'm sure it has to do with timing since they've only had your app less than a week. But, anytime you have a question or concern, give them a call. As you know from your visit, it's not a big bureaucratic place. Each time I've called various departments within the college, everyone I've spoken to has been very helpful and friendly.
