jackdaniels - I just came up with another status change theory… check my post at the bottom of madbean’s “status change theory” thread.

I called admissions yesterday and was told my son’s decision letter hadn’t been sent out yet. We didn’t get the application in until the very last day. His status is the same ‘received fall grades. no other information is needed at this time etc.’

ugh, my twin got her admission packet yesterday. (national merit finalist, USC did not ask for fall grades)
but i’m still stuck at fall grades (practically same GPA & test scores minus NMfinalist.) I did apply to Annenberg, and I got a notification last month that they never received my Letter of Intent (despite faxing). My second choice was in the College of Letters and Sciences, but now I’m feeling really uneasy about this.

Tornados, did you just type… “alamemommy?” I burst out laughing.

It seems as if USC looks more into personality than the grades when deciding whether or not to accept someone.

^ LOL

10char

I tried to copy and paste the URL I’ve seen but it’s not working for me…it shouldn’t have the … in it, should it?? Help!

My son applied to the business school instead of going in undeclared. Does that hurt his chances to get in to USC?

Has anyone from NY found out if they are in?

I live in NY and a couple of my friends got in already. Still waiting on my letter.

I’ve also been stuck on this status since I submitted my mid-year grades in January, and it’s kinda annoying…My stats are as follows:
SAT: 2310 (CR 710, M 800, W 800)
SAT II: EBio(780), Math2 (770), USH (770)
ACT: N/A
AP: Bio (5), US Hist (5)
GPA: 4.27 weighted, 3.97 unweighted
ECs: Average: band member for four years, been in several clubs including senior representative of CSF, volunteered at a summer children program and dental office, homeroom representative, and some other small things
Essays: Average
Rec letters: Haven’t seen, but I think they were pretty good

Seeing the stats of a couple of “received grades” applicants, i don’t think having this status is necessarily bad. These guys are pretty qualified. ^raincoats, i live in ny, still with this status and no letter. I know that NY people have gotten letters from this wave though. I think CDR### or something did.
It seems like no one with this status so far has gotten accepted, but these applicants are qualified, so I think it’s either we start receiving letters with this status, or we change to fowarded like dreamupsidedown.

I had this status, but then it changed to forwarded last week. I think it should change sooner or later, dont worry!

Yes, cdr777 did.

And seriously guys, there are going to be plenty more waves and plenty more acceptances. :)

bumping this.
anyone else STILL at fall grades?

i am! haha

yayy i feel like we’re the only ones /:

I am too!

GPA 3.9
ACT 33
SAT 2130

I applied to Viterbi…thinking maybe my stats aren’t as competitive and thats why they are waiting so long on my decision? Or maybe they just haven’t made a decision on the majority of Viterbi applicants…

i am as well :[
3.9 gpa
2280 sat
34 act.

I applied to Viterbi as well, and my status is still at “fall grades.” :/

people with this really seem to have high stats.also, post the school you applied to if possible. i applied to CLAS
