They misread my email address on my app as "parasite-lin@xxxxx.com" instead of "parasite.lin@xxxxx.com" despite the period was CLEARLY a period, and I made sure of it. I got no emails from them, no nothing, so I emailed them yesterday to make sure they even got my app. Turns out what I said in my first sentence was the case, and my application is under review. I think the person who read my application was half blind....

Our records currently indicate that your application for admission is complete. Please note that the status of your application file and the required credentials are only accurate to date.

STILL NOT REVIEWED, should i worry?

i'm wondering the same thing...

I tihnk a lot of schools review apps by location. They will do do all the apps in one area and then do all the apps in another. If this is the case, it woulnd't mean anythin, but i could be wronf.

BU is nuts. I can't beleive they are so unorganized about the notification procedure. Some people have application review is complete some have application is complete but know nothing about the review. Some people claim to have gotten rejection letters already through Livejournal and others claim to have gotten that e-mail telling applicants to log in to their BU ApplicantLink. I just got that e-mail today and it is driving me up a wall.

People are claiming to have gotten rejected? Seems a little early.

Yeah at www.livejournal.com/community/boston_univ someone wrote about getting a thin envelope.

Their methodology to approaching admissions is way too stressful. Sending out rejections before acceptances, teasing us with saying that their reviews are complete and then emailing us to tell us to check our applicant links (like we CCers don't have enough things to check every second lol) and then finding out that nothing's changed.......it's all so confusing.

In a week all will have begun to be over though, Thank God.

"someone wrote about getting a thin envelope."
I really doubt that happened. It could be a delayed ED rejection.

delayed ED rejection. Well its been delayed for 3 months... I highly doubt that

Wait a second. Did they OPEN the envelope? I remember my [mailed] acceptance letter being thin.

Ok everybody - deep breath..... in, anddddd out. The stress is almost over.

We recently studied in psychology class that choosing a college is one of the most common stressors among teens. Hmm, anybody NOT suprised? haha

On a different note - what are all of your safety schools?

well I JUST now got that email... maybe it's going by last names? (R for me). Although that would be really silly as it could all be sent just at once (but i could understand that they don't want to overload their mail server/use up too much of their bandwidth). Anyways, I'm saying between the 21-23rd

i doubt the emails went out by last name - i'm at the end of the alphabet and i was one of the first to get it. i think maybe we (myself included) analyze everything way too much...

if we keep over-analyzing everything, it'll just get more and more stressful. let the acceptance letter come to you

Hey all! My daughter was in your shoes last year and just as stressed. (Now at BU and loving it--mostly.) Last year BU had 28,000 applications to read! One email from admissions included the number of words that 28,000 applications contained--can't remember but it was way up in the millions. Remember all those essays? You will hear soon. She found out on line around March 23 and got her admissions packet about a week later. Even if BU is not is not in the cards for you, the odds are that you will be very happy where you do wind up. I'm rooting for you all!

okay... don't hold your breath - just called financial aid about something, and the lady said she was told decisions are going out the 24th - I asked if that meant posted online or mailed - she didn't know.

dcmom,
I am curious about your comment that your daughter is "loving it- mostly" at BU. What are the things she is not so happy about? My d is borderline for acceptance and i am concerned that if she does get in (and it is her top choice school), she might not do well with the competition and seemingly huge bureaucracy. How is your d finding the difficulty of classes, large size and social scene? What are the negatives?

Mommeleh, I sent you a message. Feel free to get back to me for more info.

My safety schools, elysse, are:

SUNY Albany
SUNY Binghamton
University of Hartford
Northeastern

I got into all of them already so it was a huge relief to know I at least had SOMEWHERE to go.

DS is at BU and he loves it COMPLETELY. He was in your shoes two years ago. The difference was he didn't even worry about this until April 1. By that time he had already RECEIVED his acceptances. They say April 1...relax folks...if you get it early, view that as a bonus.
